sunday was awesome. basically a mini pow day at mrg. but how bad is it? I haven't been keeping up. coverage destroyed?

Coverage isn’t terrible just need some fresh snow. Going to be progressively getting worse though, 10 day forecast looks shitty.

The forecast was cloudy and warm. And that's the way it was when I arrived at 10. Picked up my new pair of Kore 93's so I was stoked to tryout my new skis. Started with groomed stuff but quickly transitioned to bumps. Yeah it sucks when spring shows up in February but the bump skiing was awesome. Yahoo, Belleayre Run, Tongora and Winnisook all had good bump lines. I enjoyed them so much I didn't realize that it had started snowing. And it was getting colder. I stayed until 3, long enough to see the snowmakers setting up on Yahoo top to bottom. More snow on top of pre-existing bumps. During a bad winter (so far) Belleayre has answered the call for more snowmaking. Weekend off, then back at it Monday.

Thinking about Ski3 next season. Seems they have a little more pride in their product than Vail.

beautifully soft conditions at magic until the wind shut the lifts and then the power down shortly after 11am.


Picos snow report said they had 6 lifts running so we had lunch in the car on the way. top 1/3 of mountain was firm but the rest was soft. always love the terrain off of lpt and outpost.

Frozen groomers that were actually pretty good. Anything not groomed rattled your teeth a bit, but was expected.

Thinking about Ski3 next season. Seems they have a little more pride in their product than Vail.

Because I got the Beast 365 this season I got the Belle only pass this year. Figured I would be in VT a lot more than I have. Just hasn't been worth it for the most part to do the extra driving and spend on lodging.

Unless winter suddenly shows up in the next 2 months I will probably go back to the Ski3 next season and get the K/Pico only season pass.

Got 3 different weird days at Tremblant. Day 1: soft and spring-like. Stayed in the trees and bumps. Day 2: a few inches of powder on top of 3 inches of sleet + crust. 70% of the mountain roped off. Ducked many a rope and had some fun on-trail and in the trees, but some trails were just nasty with the crust. Day 3: first tracks with 2" of powder over the groomers. Then ducked into the woods for a bit. And then got the hell out of there when apparently every single person in the Montreal area showed up around 11a

Great day in the woods. Coverage is still pretty decent, just scratchy. Conditions ranged from nice sugary snow on groomers to a slight crust in the woods but the sun softened it up nicely.

I'm there sun-wed or thurs. I either hit GT thurs and Friday or just Friday only. depends on conditions/crowds.

another family that we are meeting out there wants to go on a carriage ride with my family to see the elks on Tuesday or Wednesday. these rides are during the day mind you. They are completely fucking out of their minds.

my built in jewish anxiety is raging out of control as i start my last work day before 13 ski days and not going back to work til march 6

- frantically refreshing the ups tracking on my skis which were meant to arrive yesterday but got delayed
- my connecting flight is thru Chicago and they have a winter weather advisory and ice and a little snow tonight
- so i am already looking at alternate options in the event my flights get fucked up, and mentally preparing to pony up $$$
- mildly worried about the logistics around turo, tho not that worried
- mildly worried about having to land and then first do a 4 hour drive to jackson, tho not that worried

overall tho, pretty fucking anxious, and i don't think i will feel ok til i check in to the hotel in jackson and reunite with my skis. i have a meeting at 10 and then it is xanax and gym o'clock. gotta get this feeling outta me
