I agree with dork. If the bear had been a polar bear you might have noticed it. You are directed to do a task involving the white team thus directing your brain to ignore the black team and thus the bear. While driving you aren't just looking for white cars.
If you go on a motorcycle or bicycling forum, I think they would agree that people are not looking for them either.
So you missed the point. When I am driving I look for anything in the road, side of the road etc. including but not limited to cars, motorcycles, bicycles, bears, dogs cats, dear, moose, turkeys basketballs. I am not trying to count how many passes a white basketball team makes, I could care less, would I be aware of them, yes but concentrating on how many passes they make no. Take away the direction of counting passes and I think you would see the bear.
You might, I might as well. However, the average idiot behind the wheel is concentrating on their phone-call, radio dial, mirror, newspaper, coffee, electric shaver, crotch, cigarette etc... (the passes) and not on the road or anything located on that road (the bear) Just because you are a good driver, who is aware, don't forget that most people aren't.
Agreed, but that idiot will miss cars and trucks too, not just motorcycles.
True. One can only hope that said idiot misses that big oak tree, instead of the bicyclist. Or vice-versa, as the case may be...
.....and I here I thought I was doing well getting the correct number
good stuff
So you missed the point.
