Blue just posted on Facebook that they are not opening until 12/17. Needless to say I'm more then a little bummed about this. What sucks even more is there is no way I can take off that day. Not a chance in hell.

Opening on a Thursday???

Camelback still says they are opening Sat. 8 Trails (Marjies and Rocket at least). Claims they get 8-10 inches of snow but I'm dubious about that. We shall see Sat am.

I just got back from Hunter. Super fun day. $44 tickets all weekend and you should see the snow guns going nuts.

Somehow this thread is a wee bit more anti-climatic this year than in previous ones - absolutely no offense meant to you Root ;)

Any idea on the ticket pricing?

Hoping Blue does open with majority of trails open now. Maybe the desicion was based in part due to last years "opening day death cookies"???

Also, Apologize about the above "hunter" post. Got a "I love lamp" air to it. Was tired and did not realize it at the time. Was just intended as a "why not go there instead" thing.

I haven't a clue. The weekend ticket is $55. Pretty steep for limited terrain. Later in the season I might be able to help you with a discount but not now. Unfortunately they need to make as much $ as they can. Pelican ski shops in NJ might be selling discounted tickets if you can get over to one today. I'm sure they are blowing as much as they can today.

Camelback said on their facebook page they would be discounting ticket prices based on the amount of terrain open. They did not specify what that discount will look like however.

I'll be there on Saturday with the rest of the PASR Blue Mountain Refugee's. Parking in the Sunbowl lot. Tan jacket with red accent, matte black Giro G10 helmet. K2 Crossfire skis.

I'll see if I can pick you guys out. I be with the wife and probably an assorted possy of other pass holders. I'll probably be be wearing a Black and Grey outfit (Don't know what the wife will wear) Black Helmet with a small CBK Sticker, Atomic C-9's (rock skis). Probably will be at the bar in the afternoon for a little while too (Annes end) since we are staying up for dinner at a friends condo.

I'll stop in the bar before I leave. What does Annes end mean?

Anne's the bartender. Usually at the end near the door to East Side Bistro.

Still not really sure what will be open cause the ski report looks kinda strange to me. Marjies I think for sure. Hoping something less inclined for these 49 year old legs at least for the first couple of runs.

How far are you from Snow Ridge? They seem to be getting pounded by the lake effect. If I had the time and means I would think about heading there this weekend. Its only a 500 ft hill but the snow looks fantastic.

Thats generous of you Alex, but as root said, I'm one of the "Blue mountain refugees". I will be there with one or both sons (son#2 not feeling well, stayed home today) tomorrow. Possibly Sunday too if #2 misses out tomorrow and feels better by for Sunday.

My Saturday at Camelback was one of hurry up and wait. Lots of things to iron out before skiing so I only got on the snow at 10. Then after about 10 runs I pulled the edge out from my C-9's. Looks like they a repairable. Pretty busy opening day. Never was able to pick out Root and the Blue Crew.

Sunday morning was delightful before the weather moved in. They opened Rocket and were continuing to blow snow on several trails even while it was raining (don't ask me how). Looks like a break till Tuesday then they'll be firing again. Looks like Tut, Birches, and lower Cleo (maybe some bumps?) are the next to come on line. Took me 2 1/2 hours home on I-80 due to icy conditions.
