Yea! Let's put my 21 month old son into the car and drive 10 hours to ski dust on crust! F-Ya! That's hardcore!

What do you care about skiing anyway. You live in New Jersey. Must suck. Have fun at Camelcrack while we ski/ride up at Saddleback and the Loaf. F-ya. :flame: You are not allowed to use the word hardcore in reference to anything outdoors down there in the land of big hair and concrete. All the guy was trying to do is show some good lines to be had. We all have kids. My kid summitted Sugarloaf on a snowboard when he was a few months older than your 21 month old. Oh well. You wouldnt know hardcore if it hit you in the parking lot at one of your malls.

... what stoke is?
Yesterday in the MRV.
Snow is currently falling here too.

Two friends of mine were at MRG Wed 2-8 to Fri 2-10 and said the woods there were closed, and the trails that were open were "firm" to "icy"- their words (though I note that you're referring to "MRV," not "MRG"). One of them tried the woods anyway, and said he was thankful to get back on piste because "at least it was ice without the trees."
Think I'll keep praying for a big dump, thanks.

Hit Sunday River and Loon last week. Skiied Saddleback this weekend...Their snow is simply better and there's more of it up there...All glades are in play and with any luck they'll be powder up there this weekend. In a winter that's produced very little snow so far, Saddleback is even more appreciated.

Looks like the place to be!

I think you covered all the Jersey insults there. Very impressive. Btw, what did you have for breakfast this morning- a tall glass of Haterade and a big bowl of Angry O's?

I took a couple of runs in the upper elevation woods on saturday at sugarbush. These were previously trodden and from 4000' down to maybe 2500'. They were firm but definitely edgeable. not icy. I've skied them in much worse shape. the base is sufficient.

Woods in Maine are horrible. This was taken on 2/4. I mean..how crappy is that? Good thing everyone hates the woods, b/c there were no new tracks this past weekend from last weekend. Warnings of rabid ME squirrels in the woods is being heeded. BTW..if you even think of checking your bases after a trip down this, then you should not be skiing the woods.

Nice! There are some good conditions out there. Trees are in play in N VT.Too many people have been whining on this board, and not getting out and getting some.

And a great big "Hallelujah" to that, woods snow is too precious to waste on the whiners.

I hope nobody gets mad that we were having fun.

As long as you don't get mad that there are many practical and valid reasons for people not to drive up to Northern VT (and/or ME) to ski in the trees.

Or that people in New Jersey ski. That seems to be a hot button issue with some people for some reason.

I caught the thread with the video, but it had nothing to do with the picture. If you see a picture of a car, do you ask, "Did you crash it yet?"

St. Bear, I never cajoled anyone for not driving, just trying to inspire with some positive imagery. For the record, I skied with a Jersey family today and they are featured in the video.
