One of the reasons killington expanded off season activities was to retain ther winter help year round. in todays labor market this is key to keeping management busty with supporting cash flow. Could be one of the reasons Wilcat and Attatash hase problems retaing help.

It's a sound business decision to maintain a significant amount of year round employees to maintain a high quality and consistent business. The places that do so tend to have a better prime season product.

This is not something shareholders care about though. Hence it is not something that Vail cares about.

So - confirmed - the gutters are no longer inside the base lodge....and the ceiling tiles have been painted in an attempt / disguise the fact that gross leaking that at times landed in your soup, or on you.

Octoberfest was decently crowded. Most likely only due to the good weather as there was no German band ....food...and listening to the chicken dance by the DJ.

The schedule on line listed steing holding at X time, which it wasn't ...had a dog race instead... They just cant get it together.

Also - nothing done in Hugh Peaks - confirmed that the mold has been baking in there all summer. not checked after the heavy rain earlier in the summer....and they have not even dusted or vacuumed...

Annapurna snowmaking update on facebook . . .

Our team has been actively tackling Annapurna this summer and fall, and we’re hopeful of the progress we've made. We won't know for sure until we get static cold temps to test the system there. We'll share more updates once we know!

I'm not an expert but I'd start with:

Air... check
Water... check
Leaks... nope

Good to go!

Now can they find 2 attendants to run Z daily?!

Weird, it's better to test the system when it's warm so you can actually fix the issues easier. Sounds like they're not interested in spending the money to charge the system until they're ready to run.

Hunter Mountain Opening Day – Saturday, November 22

Winter is here! We’re thrilled to kick off the 2025/26 season this Saturday, November 22 at 9:00 AM. Join us for top-to-bottom skiing and riding, a banner break celebration, breakfast taquitos, and a live DJ to set the vibe. Our snowmaking team has been working around the clock, and thanks to the recent stretch of cold temps, we’re opening with great coverage and top-to-bottom terrain.

We plan to run the Broadway Express, Kaatskill Flyer, and Hunter East Carpet. Planned trails include Hellgate, 7th Ave, Kennedy Drive, Fifth Avenue, and Gramercy Park (weather dependent). Keep an eye on our website and the My Epic app for terrain updates.
