When heading to VT from NYC (or upstate NY for that matter), as anyone taken
the Taconic Parkway up to Albany to avoid the tolls on 87, and if so,
does that add a lot to the time, or is it equal?

You avoid the tolls, but John Q. Law is always out in full force on the Taconic. Speed at your peril, therefore the thuruway is usually faster.

No tolls on 91/89.

good tip.

but I'll add that I got ticketed last year heading N on 87 @ Saratoga &
the fine was not pretty. I slinked back in fear on the return trip.

There are always lots of police officers on the northway (I-87 north of albany). Tin was referring to the NYS Thruway (I-87 south of Albany).

Even though he's a Yankee fan, Kenny has it right.

BTW, who is that driving in the back seat on your avatar and what is the location at SB? Church?

It's me. I realize my form on the jump is terrible. Thanks for the reminder :) It is Church, to skier's left (the easier part). I don't see myself ever jumping off the top / skier's right.
