Has anybody purchased a season's pass for any ski area yet this year?

I normally have a Butternut pass purchased by the end of May. I have not done it yet as I can not decide what to buy. I ski at Orford and this up coming season will plan on at least 7 days (midweek, non holiday). I like the ASC Bronze pass to use at Mount Snow & Killington. But also by purchasing that pass I could *possibly* ski the other ASC areas in New England as opposed to going to Orford for the mid week non holiday trips.

So my possible purchases are :
Butternut & ASC bronze
Butternut & Orford mid week (if they have the $110 promo this year)
Jiminy Peak
Berkshire East & Orford mid week.

I am cheap and do not want to spend much more than $600 on a pass(s).

It was easier buying a car than to make this decision!

Is an ASC Bronze and a Threedom (Sunday-Friday) a possibility? That would cost you $618 and give you access to 9 ski areas. You can then always do $99 3-packs or $15 Monday/Tuesdays to ski Butternut.

Unless you really can't stand ASC ski areas, I think the Bronze or Silver is a no-brainer. If you do get an an ASC pass, do yourself a favor and book some time up at Sugarloaf. 8)

We are stuck in 'Flatland New England,' as opposed to my home in Northern Vermont now. College pretty much wiped out the $$$ for me and my GF.

We purchased Pat's Peak 2004-5 passes (she is just starting skiing) for $249 in March and skied for the remainder of this past season on them (all of March). At this point, I've almost paid it off. We are day trippers and the hill is about an hour away, which is tolerable. I do miss my bigger mountains....and I miss my Jay/Burke College $199 pass!

If you are close to an ASC mountain and have the time midweek, opt for their midweek pass. How far is Orford from here and why do you go there? Isn't that in Quebec? Have you been to Owl's Head or Burke?

Greg, Thanks I forgot about the $99 3 packs and $15 tickets.

I am not anti-ASC. For a quick ski trip on a Sunday after church. Butternut is 1 hour and Mount Snow is just about 2 hours. Also for a quick trip from work midweek Butternut is close. Also, for Butternut having a pass has priveleges for parking especially if you boot up at your car. I think 6 tickets for $198, is a good deal, but I know I will go more than 6 times and most likely not on a $15 day, so I think the extra $1 for a pass is justifiable.

It is kind of like this, if I buy an ASC pass, I will try the other ASC places that I have never been to for trips. That means no Orford  It is kind of breaking a long tradition! I may have some angry relatives up there also when I break the news.

I only need to ski 5 times at Mount Snow to break even on the Bronze pass.

Oh, I totally think the Butternut $199 is a great deal, and so is the $349 ASC Bronze. I guess what it boils down to is whether the extra hour each way in the car is worth the additional vertical and varied terrain at Snow vs. Butternut. That's only a decision you can make. If you're talking Sunday afternoons, crowds are probably negligible.

Sounds to me like an ASC Bronze + Butternut pass is best for you. If you do forgo Orford, be sure to replace it with a Maine trip. Do your relatives ski with you when you're up there?

Bronze & Butternut is most likely what it will be.
SugarLoaf, Sunday River & Attitash are all places that I have never been to. I am trying to convince one of my friends to buy a Bronze also. That too, is another factor. I can not see myself doing a solo vacation!!!!!!!!

For just a handful more of minutes of driving, for bigger mountain expirence in Southern NH try Mount Sunapee. Much more terrain and 2-for-1 during the wid-week is worth taking time off from work. :D

Yes, as I said, we don't have a lot of money and PP was half the price as Sunapee. We visited Sunapee in March and it was nice. The driving time is also considerably more to Sunapee and, with gas prices what they are, every little bit counts. As long as I'm skiing for now, that is all I care, but I do miss Burke/Jay/Sugarbush.
