I'm hoping that Glenn chime in and will trump everyone here with some S.M.A.R.T goals

LMAO! I missed this! Better late than never!

Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely!

My goals:
More time in the terrain park.
More skiing overall.
Get a bit better in the bumps.
Visit Sundown.

I'm down a solid 30lbs from the end of last season. Anyway with the weight loss, being in great physical shape from biking, contacts and most importantly finally giving up few bad habits, I expect nothing but positive things on the hill this year. I'm ready for it so bring it on!

Nice work. Enjoyed/enjoying MTBing with you this season so hopefully we can score some VT powder too this winter!

Put in longer sessions..

Ski close to or more than 100 day...

Stay injury free..

Take more pictures and maybe video..

Buy new carving skis and maybe new fat skis...new jacket..new gloves

Ski with more AZers..

Spend over $5,000..cause if I don't then it will go to gambling, hookers and blow..

Ski in Utah..

Ski in Western Canada..

I'm happy with the way I ski so I don't want to spend a minute working on technique.,.

Steeze's list sounds pretty good to me

Hmmm.

#1) 360.
#2) Improve in the bumps.
#3) Fitness (see #2)
#4) Improve at rails

What does everyone think is a realistic goal for ski days? My historic goal (the last 4 seasons) has been 30, I think I've made it over 25 each of those season but never gotten to 30.

Now that we have a ski condo, part of me wants to make the goal 30, which I think might be setting the bar too low. Part of me wants to make it 50, which might be too high. And 40 seems like a silly compromise. What is realistic?

To have fun. I couldn't care less about form. With the limited # of days I get out I try to enjoy them.

To maintain a balance between pursuing my own self interest (exploring more mountains both with lifts and with out, expert terrain hunting, meeting other strong skiers to explore with and learn from) with continuing my young family's enthusiastic outings while not forcing them into anything that they do not wish to do. Keeping it all fun.

Double my days from last year (need 86 for that... definitely possible). Ski in October for the first time and maybe into June. Ski Jay, Sunday River, Tux, Wildcat, Black, and maybe others for the first time. With my Sugarbush pass, take advantage of Mount Ellen and get better in the bumps. Get way better in the woods (Burke Monday-Friday every week will help that with some Jay appearances).

I'm fairly certain that my season will start by October 31st, hopefully earlier if we can get a storm to dump a skiable snow on Jay. Burke doesn't open till the 2nd week of December which means I won't be able to get there regularly till the 3rd week of January, but once I do I can't wait to hit the woods everyday. Definitely can't wait to hit the Bush on weekends, and can't wait to... umm... remember good crowd avoidance skills when I come back to Wachusett over Christmas :p.

2) Stay injury free

3) Make turns with tjf67

One of my goals this year is to earn turns more. With that in mind, I already purchased a new pair of touring boots. But I am also considering making this goal happen by not getting a season pass so I do not feel obligated to "make sure I got my monies worth." Perhaps we need a separate thread not for goal making but rather on how to ensure we fulfill the goals that we make. :)

Hit a bunch of day trip places in Southern NH (Ragged, Sunapee, Pats Peak) so the kids can build up their favorites as they get older.

A couple days at 'The Loaf.

Glade skiing at Steamboat.

A weekend at Sugarbush.

Get the 4 year old to realize that the pizza wedge is about stopping and control and not a free push from the instructor.

Get the 7 year old to slow down at all.

Get the 10 year old to link more turns

Get the 7 and 10 year old to take their rip stick skills and move them to the snowboard.

sounds like performance reviews at the office! A little form goal: result, goal:result, overall rating. Raise/no raise :-(
