Magic, Jay and Cannon are top tier. Saddleback mine as well be in Colorado its so far from major population centers. The rest of the Eastern Indy resorts are regional hills (with the exception of Bolton which is still small for NoVT).
Apples to Oranges comparing somewhere like Catamount, West Mountain, ect. to major players.

Same goes for the Western Indy spots with the exception of Castle and Hood Meadows.
Just because it’s a fun mountain doesn’t mean it’s in the same league as others (Berkshire East).
Saddleback is pretty much the same drive time as Jay from Boston.

I went to Black Mountain of Maine Sunday Feb 26th there were no lines and lots of untracked could be found. One of the most unusual places I’ve been to in NE. Can’t wait to go back for more exploration. First year Indy pass guy and I love it. Have also done Saddleback, Pats peak, Berkshire east and 5 of 6 Japan resorts. Such a cool pass and essentially no lines.

Gunstock and Indy passes both renewed. Will be interesting to see how many places the new RFID Indy pass works at

i am under the impression that the physical pass is largely a trinket to wave at a resort employee who will then print you a lift ticket, and that it will work as a direct to lift RFID card at very few (if any) places. i think this is a move to combat the pervasive 'but what do i do without a physical pass!?!?' derp-fest that occurs daily on their facebook group.

Pretty sure I'm going to renew INDY for my son and I - did Epic last year and a much better experience with INDY this year. Son and I will get approx 12 (him)/20 (me) days this year with his sport schedule (9th Grade) and the girlfriend liked the value for her and her daughters (Epic also last year was a waste for her and the girls). In 3 years my son is In college and I'm think of renting in a ski town for 2 or 3 months I will reassess passes. Right now see no reason to change for the next 3 seasons unless Epic or Ikon do something that makes real sense for me

I could get an Indy Pass add on with our passes at Granby where we bought our unit in Colorado, but don't think I will. It's not the choices though I would like to see a little more Colorado on there. To me it becomes like an all you can eat buffet with too many choices. I currently carry 3 passes for the places I ski and will hold serve with those. A full Ikon mostly because we have a connection and go every year for a week in Aspen, but also to be used at Winter Park which is just 25 minutes up the road from our condo and out in Utah at my BIL's place. Copper, Steamboat and A Basin are just over an hour from our place as well. Just put it to use this past weekend with 3 days at Loon so its useful here too. The Granby Ranch pass which comes with my HOA fees and has comp days at Ski Cooper. And then the pass I use the most which is the Camelback Super Pass where I get 40 plus days a season (many of them weekday mornings with my current schedule) at 45 minutes from the house. Of course the punch comes at the end of March when the Camelback, Ikon and the boat slip up at the lake all come due, did I say ouch😯

Would be small for you ST however, it is a great place to escape weekend crowds. It does have some fun stuff on the West Mountain and there are places to rent to stay. Like I said 25 min to Winter Park, just over an hour to Steamboat and Dillon area and Bluebird (which I haven't skied) is close by too.

Epic pass for 23/24 NE only midweek senior discount is $315! I've tried to dig into the details on the Epic site and read most of the Vail sucks thread, but what's the catch? It seems like a no brainer because i only ski midweek and Attitash and Wildcat are closest to me. Cannon and BW is $469.

if you only ski midweek you are generally good to go

snowmaking/grooming may be shitty, and mountain ops may be lacking especially midweek when they feel they can cut back on staffing, lifts, food/bev, etc. but the horror is the crowd and the crowd is the weekend.

That's what I figured, but after reading all the horrorshows on the VAIL SUCKS thread, I figured there was something I am missing about the Epic pass. When something seems to be too good to be true, it usually is. Thanks, Kusty

I ski nh epic places midweek and have had a good season, definitely getting my money's worth. If you're looking for amenities, aggressive snowmaking and top grooming there's places that do it better.

I'll probably do epic again and sub my cannon pass for a gunstock midweek for when I want a lazy day.

My wife and I got this last year as a supplement to our Sunday River bronze pass. It was even cheaper then. We hit Okemo, Mt. Snow and Stowe, places we hadn't been in a long time. It's a great deal, especially if you live close to one of the mountains. Sometimes it's good to be old!
