Hey guys, usually I wouldn't post about one trail but this is a big deal. We are going to start snowmaking on Annapurna tonight, which is the furthest trail West on Hunter Mountain. Our pipe is also getting recut tomorrow morning. I pasted the eBlast we're sending out soon below:

Halfpipe Recut Date: Tomorrow Morning!

Hello skiers and riders! We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the opening of our halfpipe. This weekend we made the halfpipe (located at the top of Broadway) available for Saturday and Sunday, and have are recuting the pipe on Monday! We’re planning on keeping the park open through the week and will continue to add features.

Annapurna Gets Snow: Starting TONIGHT!

In true Hunter fashion, we have managed to open more than 75% of our terrain, including our terrain park, pipe and snowtubing parks in an incredibly short time. The season’s beginning has been a challenging one, but our legendary recovery time has shown our snowmaking prowess once again. To give our skiers and riders a much-needed reward for the long wait, we’ve decided to blow snow on Annapurna, one of our signature trails.

Annapurna is a beast of a trail, as our experts will tell you…it’s steep, scenic, and the Western-most trail we’ve got. We are pleased to give all of our skiers and riders the opportunity to ski one of our best known and most loved trails…so look for Annapurna’s opening soon! And in case you haven’t heard, another favorite, Clair’s Way, opened on Friday. Enjoy!

Honestly, the chances of that happening are slim to none. Sorry...be thankful for Annapurna! After the beginning of this season, that wasn't even in the cards for us...but we changed our minds :)

Fair enough...I expected that. Although...you've got some nice temps for the next couple weeks.

Thanks for an honest answer though.

This past weekend was fantastic! And hearing the air starting to bleed out of the lines over on Purna yesterday afternoon just got me psyched for next weekend.

The mountain is in great shape.

Local's name for westway. It was the 44th trail of the mountain. I think it actually may be on a sign somehwere on the top near the entrance to the west side.

I like when you ski White Cloud(trail 45) to Wayout(trail 35).
We call it Route 80...

I second that. White Cloud to Way Out is one of my favorite routes. One of the few I didn't ski today though...great, great, GREAT day. I must've skied Minya 5 times before I even moved on to the rest.

Got some shots of 'purna too -- posted two in the blog.

The park is looking sweet today too. And the sun came out! Hope to see some of you this weekend!

And as I said, definite no to Westway/44. Sorry guys, but Annapurna is something to be happy about at least!

I believe it is listed as 44 on the one by the top of the F/Z lifts, I think on the sign by the top of the Quad as well.

How often does 44 open?

Last year, I think they blew snow on it, and it was open, but Annapurna wasn't. Seems that most years without significant natural snow, we only get one or the other.

Ahhh! I really need to get up to Hunter but is it as crowded as everyone says it is? I have somehow never been up there, despite living 45 minutes away and riding for the last 4 or 5 years. Only been to Windham once as well...
