Wait, so if you park over there, and you don’t get back by 330, how do you get back to your car? Walk?
today there was a couple in guest services - they parked their car in the north lot, took the lift up, and Overlook was closed so they could not ski back to their car. Did not stick around to see how that turned out - CS was baffled and did not know what to say or do.........

Nice spring like day at Hunter today, super sunny. Good amount open compared to some other options. Enjoyed some bumps and it wasn't too crowded. Parked at North around noon, didn't set foot in the lodge.

It's surprising how chill, crowd-wise, the mountain has been for a weekend to start the holiday break. Yesterday (12/24) B lift was pretty close to ski-on throughout the day, and the Flyer didn't ever look so bad either. Hunter: nobody goes there anymore - it's too crowded.

worst day of the year!! and several other years actually....Unreal stickey snow, wet snow guns, sugar, slush, mud, and rocks everywhere.

Also heard, that the main grommer showed up for work, was told they were cutting his hourly pay, so he said I am out of here.

Also, snow cat is stuck on Gateway. another break down.

Lodge was packed for fireworks. Did not hang around for them however. Oh and roof was dripping again, The gutters can't catch it all..........

Welp it's 5:23 pm, and as I can see the Northside from my couch, usually by now the groomers are out on the belt, and heading around and about. not tonight it's completely dark out there, not even lights at the top!!! Rut-Ro.............BTW it's 25 degrees at my house.

I’ve been watching the cameras today (was planning on my first day on hill being next Saturday) and it seems like not a lot of snowmaking, so I figured maybe they were blowing more on north and west. Guess I was wrong.

Quick wet-bulb calculation right now = about 17 at Hunter, so it's pretty optimal for snowmaking right now.

FWIW...snowmaking is visible at the moment on all 3 of the webcams on their website (base area, midstation, and Hunter East)

Belleayre is basically Camelback on top of Campgaw with two bridges connecting them placed an hour further from my house - which does make snowmaking viable more nights

The top 2/3 of the mountain at Belleayre is vastly more interesting than anything at Camelback... No real argument about the bottom 1/3 potentially being like Campgaw though. In all honesty, in all the years I skied Belleayre, I don't think I ever once went all the way to the bottom.

Another SS today - 6 pack stopped for about 15 minutes. Then they started running at half speed, maybe slower, and only loading every other chair. At least a 30 minute wait. Can't wait for the snowstorm to really mess things up even more!

North side was so crowded, a lot of snow, and 1 serious injury in the middle of the trail.

Hunter trounces Belleayre when it's really open. Last few years have been weak, especially on the west side. Also Belleayre gets me Gore.

Full disclosure I was a Hunter regular for many years and it was great.
