Hello, I know this is not a great first post, but this is the thread that brought me here so I have to chime in because you got me thinking.

If you want to consider flats, racing, moguls, terrain parks and tree skiing all at once, I would say top 30 at any resort in North America where there is not a competition going on, but only because you asked. I can't really race, but I think I won the Killington Klassic mogul comp. 2 days in a row and I put up some pretty good results at the national competitions back in the 90's.

Since then, I've been working on some other types of skiing, and this thing someone showed me called the outrigger turn. Some of you might know what it is, some not. It's basically a position that you would take to try and blow out your ACL. But if you do it right, you are carving on your uphill edge with your armpit and side scraping the snow and it's pretty sick. I've been at it a few years and I don't think anyone else is really trying to do this like me, at least not that I have seen.

Also to my credentials, I made the first pair of twin tip skis about 2 years before any of the manufacturers did from a pair of Volkl P40s. I was also on Salomon's first demo team back when they were trying to figure out how to make twin tip skis. I don't know if anyone here would know who I am by name, it's been a while since I've done anything publicly on skis, so I'd rather not say just because I think this is sort of a jackass post to make.

I also own a ski website that is just starting out and a few poker websites. Enough of this intro post. Looks like a nice forum here and I look forward to checking things out now that I got business out of the way.

I just realized this forum is only for the northeast and it has 10K members, so I guess someone here probably could figure it out. I don't mind if you call me out.

Just found this in case there are non-believers. I don't actually remember this so I think this might have been an age group medal, im not really sure.

Nice try, but nobody is egomaniacal enough to come up with an I love me so much take like this on their very first post..

I’m guessing this comes from the diabolical mind of SJR.

Yeah that's pretty gross. I already apologized when I made the post, but that's how I feel. I've added some pretty sweet stuff to my skiing arsenal lately, especially in the flats, I really think I've got some ideas that nobody else is really using and I can't imagine more than a few people at any mountain that are better than me if you are considering all the different types of skiing.

I'd say outside of the instructors or the Pawtucket High School ski team, I'm a top 30, perhaps even top 20 skier at Yawgoo Valley

How about you?

I am thinking about a Yawgoo ski off with Deadheadskier before the local schools let out to determine the best skier and second best skier on the slops of RI.

You wouldn't get 10 feet off the lift before Patrol slowed you down and gave you a talkin to! It might be more competitive if the ski-off were held going backwards! Count me in for the King of the Goo race!

I have no issues being a completely vanilla generic advanced skier. There are hundreds of people at Kmart who are at a comparable skill level.... and that's midweek when it's subzero. Skiing is a recreational activity I've always used to escape from the stress of the rest of my life. If I treated it as a competition, it would ruin it for me.

I knew there was a reason I liked skiing with you.
