Just had a great on the water summer weekend. Lost 15 lbs so far that hopefully I won't have to carry around next season. Sure, some ski conditioning exercises are starting to loom their head, but I'm still in full summer mode. I'll get pumped in mid October. Maybe later. Right now it's time to go get some fresh picked corn, lay a salmon steak on the grill, watch the twin fawns that come to graze each evening at dusk, bike around the resevoir and think about where on the coast I'm going to go to this week end.

I like this post. I agree. I'm not quite ready to let go of summer just yet.

Unless I can find a pair of Heads laying around, i guess the twisters are my next choice.

nice pic of greg!

"a favorite of the Alpine Zone folks at ski sundown"

You like horseys, right? Skidmarks has a good price on the Bloodlines (if they get more in). Bring your wife up to scenic Andover, NH and take a tour of the warehouse.

always jonesing, but lapping the K1 with a DH rig is almost just as good. havent really watched any ski movies lately so it cant be that bad, but i have been thinking and figuring out a new set up for the year (Bro's to get dukes and the jesters to go on something a little skinnier, symetrical and twin!). once the leaves start turning and we get som frost/snow, ill be losing it.

skiing 140 days last year helped too! ;-)

If you liked the Heads, I'd go with the Bloodlines. Closest thing out there (stiff and narrow,) and looks like about the same price as the Twister. Twisters are completely opposite, softer than the Pillsbury Doughboy. I did like my K2s, but they're short (which may be ok for someone who weighs less than 100lbs) and they're apparently one of the most break-happy skis out there.

I have been enjoying the bicycle riding, but everytime I'm sucking wind on a climb I think of how it will benefit my skiing.

Then I realize any gains are negated by my increasing age .

I agree that summers not done by any means, but it is on the back side. Its August and conversation starts turning to ski plans. The same way that chairlift conversations turn to boating in March. Looking forward to making some ski plans for New England with my buddy on the beach at Cape May next week. Gotta to figure out dates for Utah as well soon. The boats in the water till probably late October then the big fall clean up(Ugh) and then before we know it the dreaded WROD and on to winter.

Usually, the downtime on our family vacation gives me time to let my mind wander a bit, and it started to focus in on skiing. That excitement for the upcoming season is starting to set in a little bit. Could be less than 3 months for some of you. I'll probably aim for one day in late November....

I'm definitely starting to get pumped. I've been watching teasers on the internet and Nimbus Films on the Ski Channel. Not to say that I haven't been really enjoying the mountain biking and golf. But there's only one sport that really drives me.

No jones here to speak of. Trying to enjoy summer for a change.

The contrast between your words and your sig is striking.

There was an ad in my local paper today for a mobile pet groomer, and the only thing I saw was "Groomer" and immediately was thinking of Pisten Bully's and Prinoth's! :) Stoke factor increasing ever so slightly :)

"Honey, I'll take the dog to the groomer!" :-o

(interpreted, I'm going over to Magic to be a trailside super on the welding project!)
