Man, hope they're all OK. I'm glad I don't live in Sugar Hill anymore - our road washed out frequently. I'm wondering if it's still there today :-o

Cannon: legit 3-5" with minimal wind. The fresh is skiing nice but you have to tread lightly. Solid ice (or worse) just below.

Very limited terrain. Tram is broken. Peabody is iced up. So no summit access. Mittersill chair is running at ~30% speed and only Barron's is open over there.

They report 7" inches over night last night.

I believe it. If anything K usually under reports snow totals. They're going to need every inch. Like I said some areas of K took a big hit yesterday. Didn't get to ski Bear but was told it held up well. Superstar & Needles pod held up pretty good as well. North Ridge & Snowdon didn't. Upper Rime was closed & looked like one big sheet of ice although upper east Fall & Dipper were decent. Upper Chute at Snowdon was almost as bad as upper Rime. The exit & connector section lookers right off the top of the Snowdon 4 chair was just about washed out. The base area at the North Ridge chair was like a lake. Middle Great Northern around the area where it splits from lower Ridge Run had a stream running across the entire trail. There were lots of other areas where the snow had turned to slush & will be solid ice when it freezes. This was just about everywhere. Skiing was spring like yesterday with a temperature of 52 degrees when I left our house in the valley at 8am. It was 49 degrees in the K-1 parking lot at about 8:30. This was before the heavy downpours that started about 10:30 & was still coming down hard when I left about 1pm. It rained pretty hard most of my drive down so I'd assume it rained for quite awhile at K after I left.

I have a few ketchup popsicles available for a limited time only.

Good to know - with added snowmaking, this weekend might be better than expected given the washout.

I'm at Crotched. It's not pretty but they're mostly open. Guns are going but it's windy. A good deal of edgy surface but there are surprise sinkholes just over blind knolls and some teeth chattering areas. Overall, better than you'd think.

Sugarbush 1" at base 7" summit. Stowe 2-4". From MRG:

Yesterday's drenching rain turned to snow last night giving us 4-8" of new snow on top of an exceedingly wet base. General Stark Mountain remains incredibly squishy right now and there is running water everywhere. Thus we have been forced to suspend operations once again today in an effort to let the mountain drain. Our plan is to re-open on Saturday morning as temps are expected to continue dropping. The mountain ops team and the ski patrol have gone up the mountain this morning to assess the situation. They report that in many ways we are quite lucky. The snow we received before the rain sucked up much of yesterdays moisture. The snow we picked up on the back end of the weather system bonded very nicely with the existing base and it is now setting up with increasingly cooler temperatures. So the outlook for weekend conditions is shockingly promising.

Really? They show both the Peabody and the Cannoball open.

This is what a friend posted today:
The no bullshit ski report: 5" of really nice snow on top of a lumpy bobsled track. Randomly scattered snow guns ,& ice covered chairlift seats. It's not the best day of skiing but it's better than a root canal or a sharp stick in the eye.

Yes, Really. When I posted that at 11:45 Peabody, Cannonball, and Tram were all closed. And it sounds like your friend and I found the same conditions.

Looks like another rain event in the making for next week midweek. At this point i'm contemplating cancelling a trip to Stowe the weekend of 3/18. I fear conditions are only going to worsen at this point of the brutal season.
