Do you care what you look like while skiing?

Not in your fashionable ski attire, but rather do you care how good your form looks?

Call me pretentious, but I do.

Have you seen how I ski?

Alright, yes, I do care. That's why I get intimidated skiing with AZers. The guys (and girl) I've skied with have many more years under their belt than I do and I feel way behind. Sometimes I let it get to me, try to show off...and then usually end up getting hurt doing that. This year, I've vowed not to do that anymore. Though my best turns are usually when I think someone is watching.

Good! I knew there was a reason you were progressing so quickly.

Definitely . . .

I want people to see me and say "That's a good skier" and turn around on the chairlift to watch me.
I REALLY want to get to a point where guys will turn around when I ski and think "that chick really rips!!!" But I'm a bit of a ways off from that right now.

I think 'looking good' and 'skiing well' are synonymous. I strive to ski aggressively in a fluid manner on all terrain, in all conditions. I know when I'm not skiing well and chances are it probably doesn't look all that pretty from the chairlift. So, in saying that skiing well and looking good are synonymous, then yes I do care.

Man, a simply yes I do could've answered the question just fine, but I have to turn my answer into the pythagorean theorem of ski analysis

 In my case, it comes more from never really being good at any sports. I used to waterski for several summers with my family, but nobody knew about that. I like that I can ski, I love that I'm progressing, and I want people to notice that. It's a big accomplishment for me to do well at a sport and I want to be recognized for it. :D So yeah, I guess that makes me an egomaniac, even if my small victories are nothing compared to what many of you are capable of. ;)

Well, considering this "chick" has only been skiing less than 50 days total, and probably mostly half days at best, I think you're doing pretty good:

HA! Look good while I ski?!?!?!?! I am just happy to make it down in one peace. The truth is that when I get to the bottom of a run and I am outta of breath and the legs are burning really puts a smile on my face. It makes me feel alive and helps get me through the weekly grind of my office job!

That's a good perspective to have Dana as you'll probably look kinda gay no matter what when you ski
