side note - nj people - do you kow if the state still offers the blue plates? which also happen to be the ugliest possible blue.

Those haven't been available for likely 25 years or so at this point. I think they switched to the yellow around the time I bought my first (used) car back in HS.

Disagree. A New York plate can be from Plattsburgh or lake placid. Most mountainous you’re gonna do in NJ is the Sussex county hills
Agree, but once I'm well outside NY many people assume I'm from NYC. Upstate NY is a different world compared to the city. My closest neighbors are cows...

Without Googling I'm gonna guess more like 1995'ish. The best was the one year the state got swindled on the yellow paint, and all those plates from that year basically look like the guy whose face meleted in Raiders of the Lost Arc.

but what state was on their plates???

one of the worst parts of moving from nyc to jersey city was the fucking license plate. its the worst shade of yellow possible. it is the yellow of urine.

Driving like an idiot, my guess is Massachussetts on the plate.

As for the NJ yellow plate, it's actually better than what preceded the blue plate, which was a color difficult to desribe. Kind of tan. Rarely, but occasionally you'll still see one on the road.

Updating my original post with actual data! We ended up not including Saddleback. Did Monday, Tuesday at Jay, Weds and Thurs at Stowe and first time at Bolton Valley on Friday. Zero lines (apart from Tram) at Jay and Bolton. Zero lines Spruce side at Stowe. Manageable on Forerunner and the new sixer. Gondola was busy but got some runs later in the day. No driving problems, snowed Sunday night but we were already at Jay snuggled up. Had a great week.
