Like a lot of people on here I drive a lot for work. On 93 and 89 the craziest fast drivers are usually the middle aged people in SUV's. I cruise along at 74(in a 65) or 79 in a 70 and people are flying passed me in luxury SUV's (BMW, Mercedes, range rovers, etc.)
Try I95 into Boston. Average speed 80MPH?

When people are driving one of these EVs it seems like they are immune (or think they are) from stopping at stop signs:unsure:.
Do they think they're saving electricity when they don't use turn signals?

What the hells wrong with these people? We're living in a society!

Motorcyles that rip though traffic norrowly missing mirrors going between cars. I can't wait until I can just move to VT and leave my car in the lot.
FWIW, someone did a study and found that crash rate didn't change much but crash severity went way down when motorcyclists lane split rather than sitting in traffic. There are obvious limitations to that general statement (eg the physics of splitting 30 MPH traffic at 60 MPH can't be helpful in crashes), but in general, it appears that it's safer not to put yourself in a position where you become the crumple zone in a rear end collision.

Was just out that way. I495 to NH. Trying to keep up with traffic realized I was doing 90 and still getting passed. New car is nice though.

It's actually legal in some states, was on the back of a Yamaha Seka who- turbo 750 splitting traffic on I93 going into a Red Sox game. Very scary stuff. I'm leaving N.H. to move to Vermont tomorrow. Looking forward to not having cars with crap hanging from rearview mirrors and all paperwork from the last 10 years on the dashboard of idiots.

Yup. my new set point on cruise is 80MPH on 93 and 89. With that I get passed all the time. Cops don't reall pay attention to you unless you are doing 90 now it appears. Just 2 weeks ago I got passed by a convoy of SUVs mostly with NY and NJ plates on 89. They were all going 90. An Audi, a BMW, 2 x Mercedes and a Lexus. All middle aged guys but led by a nice looking lady in the BMW. They got nailed up ahead just after that big bend near Bethel. It wasn't the lady but one of the Mercedes. He probably wasn't using Ways. Ways is a pretty good tool for me.

Many years ago ('04 I think) I took a 2 day new-rider course for motorcycles. Mix of classroom and actual riding in a parking lot. One point that stuck with me WRT lane splitting was that in some states it's illegal, in others it is legal and in some states it is mandatory, meaning if there is physical space for your bike between the lanes you are required to ride there and not in the lanes with cars. Not sure whether that's changed (I didn't go any further with riding) but I found that very surprising.

What does this mean. I am totally lost.
Okay, this should explain it Hawk. Let's say the women below are real and there are two of them. Now normally they might pursue another female (butch), butt they end up with you. They are very nurturing and play the part. Does this help.

Whatever is happening it's not working at least in New Hampster because the deaths are through the roof for motorbikes.

But it's fun. Took my hybrid up the minimum maintenance roads looking for good spots for winter. Some of those roads are impassable but ski worthy.

I don't get this hostility to electric vehicles. If you don't want one, keep driving your ice vehicle and spending whatever it is on gas. I'm looking forward to the day when I'm not spending 3-400/month on gas.
I don't really mind the cost of gas, but I hate pumping it. It' s a weird pet peeve, but I just dislike trips to/stopping at the gas station. I'm looking forward to my condo installing chargers just refueling at night.

Agreed, that’s a level of risk I’m not willing to take. Makes skiing seem downright safe.
No less than 5 friends gone on motorcycles since high school- agree. Had one as a kid-no helmets- grace of God- have always postulated that it’s just a brain bucket- in many cases the rider wished they didn’t survive as quality of life isn’t worth it.

Having said that - how fast do we go in trees?
5/7/10 mph?
Better odds and not dealing w other motorists- cause of a lot of those deaths.
