After skiing Upper and Lower Speakeasy at Loon last Wednesday and Thursday (under bluebird skies), I would have to say that run ranks up there as one of my favorite cruisers. Nice turns back and forth and great views. The lower section gets scraped quick, but it sure is a great early morning run which is when I skied it.

What other cruisers do you enjoy?

Willoughby or the Dippers at Burke. Incredible rolls and pitches and the views are

Beside that, Elbow at Sugarbush (high and great) and Obsession at Sunday River.

Northernlights at the river to just cruise. Just beautiful and wide open. Views I go with Greg Upper speak Easy at Loon, but to Upper Run runner to lower Rum Runner. I don't like lower speak easy, narrow always icy. The view at the top of Rumrunner is my favorite anywhere.

Views...huh...

The views from Gunsmoke at Gunstock are awesome looking out on winnepesake...

Coming off the Tram a Cannon looking down at the Notch is pretty wicked...especially when you're in a snow squal, and you can see sunshine through the notch...forget the name of that trail...

(anyone ever hike over to the abandode ski reosrt on the back side of Cannon?)

Panorama at the 'bush has got a great view of champlain

On a clear day the top of Madonna is spectacular...You can see whiteface and Mount Washington...

I gotta change careers...maybe I can raise chickens and become a patroller...and what about the summer? Venezuala?

Maybe we could list the longest green and blue cruising trails at every ski resort.

call me crazy but I like the Great Eastern from the very top to very bottom of Skyeship level 1. i usually use it as my end of day run.

I also like Tote Road from the very top of the Timberline chair at Sugarloaf. Narrow Gauge is also a good blue black trail with some length to it.

Mittersill? Ha! riverc0il has been known to head over there from time to time... ;) Take a look at his trip reports.

those two are definitely up there. lynx at wildcat is a nice top to bottom cruiser when you hit up before it scrapes up. rocket at cannon is quite a ride if you open it up and let em' rip.

Upper Cannon at (where else?) Cannon Mountain. Catching it early morning and turning only where the trail turns is an awesome rush. The trail isn't terribly long, but it's like a natural GS race course. I thought I've been hauling through there numerous times only to have the kids in the Franconia Ski Club blast past me like I'm standing still. Those kids are good!

A lot of good to great runs have been listed in this thread...

My long-time favorite end-of-day cruiser is what is formerly known as the "Four-Mile Trail" originating from Killington Peak and winding down to the Route 4 Gondola Station...the trail has new names along it's contiguous journey that I haven't memorized...I just know the trail sections and keep on cruisen... :D

Hayburner at Sugarloaf.
Decent pitch for majority of the trail and it covers quite a bit of Sugarloaf's vertical.
Great views from the top and quick way of getting there: the superquad from the base is the fastest way to ring up the your vertical numbers.

here's a question for a Loafer,

if i skip a year where I don;t get to ski the loaf, do I still get to call myself a Loafer since...?

i am in danger of not being able to ski the loaf this year. i am bummed but the season is winding to a close a little to quickly for my tastes....

I consider myelf to be a loafer even though I first skied the place in 1989 and did not get back until 1994. From 1994 I skied there every year until 2000 when my son was born and returned with him in 2004 We plan to ski there every year for a least 7-10 days per year, and I have 51 days at Sugarloaf so far since 1989.

Sugarloaf for me is a 400+ mile drive from where I live and I choose to make the long drive to ski the mountain that is my favorite in the east by a long shot. I consider myself to be a Sugarloafer, and just because you miss a season does not mean that you are not a sugarloafer, and you still have until April 24th to get up to the mountain.
