That was the first trail I ever skied. I remember it seemed like it took forever to get down. Instantly fell in love with skiing that day.

I need to time it sometime but I think it would take me a solid 10-12 minutes to ski the 3.7 miles of toll road at Stowe..

ill go with that number it goes down to about 6 or 8 if you do all the steep shots in between the trail. then theres the ride back its probally a 30 to 35 min round trip run.

The Toll House Double is a solid 12+ minutes..AZ day at Stowe for 2009???

I'd love to as well.

Never been to Stowe, would like to hit it, particularly with a few people who know the mountain.

im so down. i guess it will have to be spring. so we can set a date everyone can plan for. midwinter its all about random days chasing snow. but we should do it before the close the gondi.

The past two seasons..I spent the first week of April at Stowe..prices drop on lift tickets and lodging and crowds are a thing of the past..the new Stowe operates well into April..

I like being the tour guide at familiar haunts like Stowe, Blue mountain and Jackson Hole...

Stowe is where I met Kingslug and his wife and then I skied with Kingslug at Belleayre as well..

As for cruisers...I enjoy high speed cruisers and Dilly Dally weeble wobble around the corners..Jolly Green Giant at Okemo is also great..so fast..but fairly narrow as well...Dot Neble @ Belleayre and Paradise/Lazy Mile/Switchback at Blue mountain are also great cruisers..

I don't know if it's just me but a hard turn..especially to the left on a low-moderate pitch slope at Mad Steezy Speeds is pure Bliss..wow I miss skiing..

I want to make a trip up to VT this season at some point...
Probably won't happen though because skiing and travelling alone just isn't my thing.

I like Paradise at blue / Nile Mile at camelback... for cruisers in the poconos

really. 420 at the bench would be fly. when the hell did they start keepin the gondi open till closing.

The last year or two the Gondola has been running into late April..before that it would usually shut down around the first weekend of April and sometimes weekends only in April..Spruce used to be close in late March but now they stay open into April on Big Spruce. When the gondola isn't running I always like to take Rimrock over to Perry Merrill or Gondolier and ski fresh corn and sometimes fresh Poe with a minimal coast/skate back to the Forerunner quad..Stowe is definitely a great place for cruisers..A guilty pleasure of mine is skiing Lord to North Slope or Ridgeview to Sunrise to Standard at mach 10 on my race skis in fresh cord...whew..it's under 3 minutes top to bottom for 2000 vert...5 runs is possible off the quad the first hour...a nice warmup before hitting the woods and slowing my pace a bit.
