NOAA says 51 for the Sunapee area which means high 40's...

Time to break out the Weber Baby Q, and start grilling on the beach at Sunapee!

 and
Where is "the beach" at Sunapee? I'm guessing you are talking about the ski area and not the lake...

Yup, I'm talking about the ski area. The beach is the flat section between the Spruce and Sunapee Lodges. People bring their grills, chairs and cookout by the cars parked in Lot 1 and tailgate. It will be pretty busy between now and the end of the season with the Sat. 25st being the busiest with the Slush cup.

Some people who are more adept at tailgating really have an amazing spread.

Looks like a neat thing to do as long as the sun's out.

It is... I hope to be out on Sat. provided 1) I get out of bed early enough, 2) have gas for the grill 3) tables and chairs in the car 4) get a good parking space 5) it's a nice day 6) we remember to make burgers, or marinate the london broil 7) bring something for after skiing...

Spring is sweet in Utah, it's gotten to 50-60 degrees and no slush! Also went to Solitude yesterday and they had just gotten 8" of nice fresh powder during the night, and then sun, blue skies and warm temps later in the day. Life is good :) and then you go home:(

As someone who used to live in Utah, yes, the skiing is great, but at the end of the day you're still living in Utah. I'll take Vermont. ;)

2" of snow today, but the change over has begun, here comes the rain. with a solid freeze, this might provide a decent base layer for local natural snow trails and backcountry. ideally, we will need a 1-2 foot dump of mid-moisture level snow to open some decent stuff up. and hey, if there's no more snow (which is doubtful and unlikely), it's been real and the season ain't over for a few more months. spring skiing is some of the best skiing all year, i won't complain if it comes early.

The KZoners do the same thing at Bay1, Killington. Looks like we'll have something set up on Saturday

Don't give up hope yet, it's too early. This is the weirdest winter in a while. It could change. I'm willing to make long drives if needed. You need to be pretty hardcore to make this winter work out.

Bad sign. I went for my first ride today.

Well, I'll keep looking for the spring skiing anyway. I'm leaving my winter tires on until Easter at least, so that means it probably won't snow again this year.

I can't really complain # wise, I'm on target if not ahead. Has the quality been there? Well, not really, but better than no skiing.

Sunapee has been consistent all season, as has the snowmaking runs at Cannon and Burke. Do I miss the trees and natural stuff? You bet.

It has not snowed in that city for 30 years.

And we have not had a significant dumping up here for pretty much all season  All snows have been under 6 inches and have disappeared.

Our forcasters are calling for the possibility of a coastal snowstorm for Long Island and southern New England mid-next week. Hopefully it will be further north and snow your way as the montains really need it.

I have a few flowers in my garden and in NYC some of the trees are starting to break buds.

very unusual

this is the amazing part to me. i moved up to VT and just witnessed one of the least snowy winters ever. seriously, every winter i experienced in MA would put this winter to shame. not even a single one foot dump all season long.

I was just up in Canaan VT, we got about a foot of pow pow last Friday night/Saturday. Skied some awesome lines in the woods with sweeeet light stuff up to my knees. Nearby at the Balsams ski area there was some great powder to be had in their small glades... Best skiing I've seen all winter. Pretty pathetic, but true.

Moseley is a hosebag. Just thought I'd add that. haha!!

call me crazy, but its a hobby of mine to measure the snow at my house (10 miles east of Jay @ 1400'), and I have measured just under 140 inches so far this year. about 90 of those inches fell before new years, and the biggest and really only coastal storm of the year was in october with 16". another interesting tid bit is that when jay got 2.5 feet last weekend, my house got only a little more than an inch! usually on average my house gets about 1/2 the amount of snow that jay gets.

the northern greens have a pretty good snow cover considering the year and with the next decent snow we should be able to get back on our favorite lines. the only real good thing about this warmth is that the great lakes are still unfrozen and hopefully the lake effect will kick back up next week!
