hey,
Heading on a day trip with my buddy tommrow the 18th for a day of sking. Where do you guys think we should head. We were going to do wildcat for the $9 deal, but is it going to be worth going with the cold and small amount of trails. Price isnt an issue we just dont want to have to pay full price for 10 trails. Any ideas?

What kind of skiers are you and what type of terrain do you usually prefer?

I snowboard been going for 8 years now, been about 80 times in the last 3 years (skipped alot of classes at college). I can hold my own on most trails, decent at doing stuff in the woods. Im out of Boston Ma. The drive is not an issue if its worth the trip. We are going to Jay Peak for a few days next month and then off to sunday river for a week so those two are out of the question.

Tomorrow is opening day at Mt Ellen at Sugarbush. GMX turns at 9 AM. If I wasn't stuck at work I'd be in line by 8:30.

Those $9 days at Wildcat attract a tremendous amount of people. I wouldn't try it with the limited terrain.

Maybe give Loon a try. Easy drive from Boston and shouldn't be too busy on a chilly Friday. Their snow report says tomorrow is the last day for their early season pricing.

If distance isn't an issue, and you're looking for a good deal with a decent amount of terrain, may I suggest Bolton Valley? Tickets are $15, and last weekend they had a good variety of terrain (including lots of good skiing in the woods), and all they've done since then is pick up a foot of snow.
