Don't count Mount Snow out. I think they will aim to be a late season player as well.

I am under the impression they must close April 13. I hope I am wrong about that. I do not beleive they are "stockpilling" any snow. They have a good base everywhere. I don't think you'll see them blowing any more snow. I'll get the low down and report back. Wasn't worried about it yet..........................

No, but it will be a day trip so I don't want to spend all day driving if I don't have to, I'll see how far I will drive when the time comes. I may be more inclined to drive far early season after jonesing all summer, who knows.

They were open later than that last year. Plus, they've repeatedly stated that they'll continue to blow snow (I believe they are tonight as we speak). I expect them to try and beat out Killington and take claim to the longest season in VT. We'll see I guess.

Management has repeatedly said in various posts in the passholders forum and in the daily ski reports and weekly updates that they DON'T have a set closing date and will continue to operate until 1 of 2 things happens: Either all the snow melts, or business falls off to the point where it's not economically viable to run the lifts anymore.

Their core trails (basically think fan gun lined trails) have bases that are much deeper than in recent past at this time of the year, and they're still in snowmaking mode. Their also set up with deep base depths on both skiing and terrain park trails off two seperate lifts that end at the base of the mountain (Canyon Express has Standard and Snowdance stockpiled deep and there's also alot of snow on Un Blanco Gulch and Heavy Metal has Stuggers Chute and Vermonster stockpiled deep as well as the proximity to the half pipe there too), that advantage should help attract the day ticket late season terrain park crowd which could likely keep the daily revenues where they need to be to have a long season.

Last year, I thought my season was over and went to florida for a week in early april. I was checking up on things from a palm beach library and saw that the loaf had gotten absolutely buried.

We left for reggae weekend a day after arriving home.

It was EPIC. Timberline, T bar, and superquad all day.

After that, I was sated and began looking ahead to kayaking/bicycling stuff.

This year, I want to ski in may. Bretton Woods? Wildcat? Mt Sneaux? Wherever. I'm hoping for another 10 days+ from march onwards.
