I also rock a Ithaca is Gorges sticker on my helmet. But I went to school on the better of the two hills. ;-)

Ha nice. A buddy of mine who still lives in Ithaca (5 years after graduation) invited me up for the weekend. I was thinking prob not till after ski season, but on a whim I emailed Greek Peak and they claim to have bumps on 5 trails. I look at that with skepticism. Would you agree?

I can't remember them having 5 bump runs during any of my 4 years. 2 at the most.

I believe I'm very near day 80. Probably late 70s somewhere. I'm shooting for at least 100. Shouldn't be hard to do living at Sugarbush!

Ticket prices add up quickly

My very first post here in AZ. Hello to all first.

I'm at 10. A very low number compared to most of you.

I have a question - how do you pay for all those skiing days?
Do you work as instructor/employee/etc and ski for free?
Do you have a season pass?
Do you pay each time you go?

To make a season pass work out financially, you have to go to the same place(s) 10-15 times. I like going to different places, so I don't buy season pass. It may change next year, however.

I'm just curious because the tick prices add up very quickly, especially for people (like me) who almost always go as a family.

You go Bob- 70 is easily in reach!

And the doctor is right, Terry. We need you on Team Maine Technical Source next year!

I agree. You can get 70, Bob. I wish I could. I'm at 49, which is my highest total ever, but that damned cubical makes me come back most days! :snow:

I pay for them by working in the summer.
No.
Yes, 2 of them.
No.

Not necessarily. My college pass to Sugarbush was $300 and my Sun-Fri ASC college pass was $230. I only bought day tickets when I had a discount. Assuming I had around 40 days with only 2 of them at places where i didn't have a pass I ended up paying less than 15 bucks a day. Season passes are the way to go. There are a lot of passes where you only need to go 6 times or so to break even.

81 and counting! Just made my goal on Saturday of 80. But 85 now looks do-able. Maybe more! What a corn fest last weekend.

Should get close to my goal of 50, but I'll probably miss it. I'm up to 46 now, figure on two more next weekend and that may be it. Not complaining though, I hit a new high :)

I am at 14 and that will most likely be it for the season, I have commitments this weekend and unless Sugarbush opens Mt. Ellen next weekend(which won't happen) my season is over. 14 Days is nothing compared to the amount of days I would get in during my college years but most of my days this year were just great quality days, especially the end; Wildcat the 3rd weekend in April at 100%, great days on Castlerock, even in April. Mad River was unreal this year...

Sixty Plus, all at Wildcat. Didn't get that many at Taos S V in any of 6 seasons, and didn't miss the high elevation. Next year I'll try to ski my age of 71.
