So since its about midway through my season I figured Id start a thread where we can all post up our reports for our overall season. I know a bunch of us posted up goals, how they coming along, how many days have you gotten out etc.

So far for me this season has been pretty decent considering the weather. Despite a lack of snowmaking what was open early season made for some awesome "spring skiing". I used the time to get pretty decent at riding goofy, as even with the corn snow riding groomers and the bunny hill can only excite so much, so Im getting pretty close to achieving my goal for that. Today saw my first real "powder", it wasnt much only 4" overnight, but 10" since sat, and I found some deep spots in the snowfields at Whiteface. Snow coverage is awesome right now and Im convinced were in the mids of the longest continues sub freezing streak in about 2 years now.

Overall Ive got 20 days, only one of which (sat of MLK weekend at sugarloaf) was bad. I was hoping to get a little more in by now, but I think I can still reach my goal of 50.

Hows your season coming along?

i have 40 days give or take. overall its been fun, even with the challenging. got some good powder in utah before the dry spell. new england is getting better and better every day, and it's nice to not be skiing in ncp. hoping for some big storms in february and march, but i'm going to taos to increase my odds in a few weeks. I've been everywhere in new england from southern vermont through n.h. to the loaf, and i think sunday river has done an incredible job this winter.

Day 21 today, probably hit 24 or 25 by the end of the week. Not all of it was very good, but at least it was skiing! Looking forward to better days ahead.

31 days so far. I will have 33 by the end of Jan so I am right on track for 70 or so days. I have had some fun days, and some pretty poor days this winter but it has been interesting!!! You only live once so ski all you can while it is there!!!

while i have had some good moments, particularly late october and early november with one nice powder day each in december and january, the season is just coming into its own now and i prefer to look forward instead of backward. with 22 days on the season so far, i still have four prepaid vouchers to MRG, one to cannon, and three days at stowe on the cheap awaiting me in addition to over a dozen more at jay. and that is all before turn earning season begins in earnest. definitely way to early to judge this season that has essentially just begun (kinda weird i saw that at 22 days!).

After tonight is will be 28 days out. A small advantage is the lines have been short. This weekend at Loon the Lines came. Folks started to see the light. I have fun as long as mountains are open and there are enough trails covered so all abilites are not trapped in the same area.

So far so good...Girlfriend and I have had about 10 days out skiing and everyone has been different. We've skied in warm temps, rid. Freezing temps, bright sunny, light rain, Fresh groomed powder, ice, spring conditions- everything. Season however is looking up- we're heading back up to whiteface 2/8-2/12 and are stoked to get out on skyward finally and then we're heading to alta a month after that. All in all it's been a great first half of our ski season.

Season's been going good for me. I've gotten out a bunch of times at my local mountain and made it out to Hunter and Snow once each. I had fun almost every time I went out. One night it was particularly cold and mountain was scrapped off to HARD-pack so I packed it in after a few runs, other than that Ive had fun every time out. I'm planning a trip up north to hit at least Cannon (hopefully for the AZ gathering) and maybe more. I also plan to be at Snow for the AZ South Gathering on the 16th of next month. I plan to make it up to Jiminy, Magic, and BEast. Hopefully we get some natural for the later two...

10 so far for me. After Wed. night I will have matched my season total from last year. Yeah the weather at the beginning of the season got off to a crummy start, but I couldn't be happier. I' started the season as a clumsy, out off shape, noob and now I'm starting to get into moguls (long way to go). My turns, speed, and confidence are on a entirely different level. Meeting AZers has been a huge help. Besides the benefits of skiing with more talented skiers, it has helped to get over not skiing with my wife. Greg and bvibert are great guys and its been great to get to know them at Sundown. I've only been on the man made stuff but that's fine with me. I'll get some pow sooner or later. My goal was 20+. I may have to revise that estimate to 25+.

Pretty slow so far (4) but I didn't have a lot of expectations. Still trying to get in weeknights to supplement the weekend family outings.

Pretty good so far. I got a slow start due to our warm fall weather; I had no idea that by going to a football game in October I'd miss the best conditions for months!

Because of the slow start, I don't consider the season half over. I'm well under half the total days I hope I'll get. Right now I'm at 12 days with 2 powder days. Not too bad, considering.

I feel like the season only began in earnest over MLK weekend. Lots of new terrain has opened in the last three weeks. It's just getting to high season, and the best is yet to come.

13 days in so far. I've had a fantastic season so far despite the rocky start. I've skied with AZers on 11 days, one day with just my father-in-law and once solo. I enjoyed every day out so far. So I would say I've had a great start and the best, by far, is yet to come!

I'm guessing around 15 days for me, all at Belleayre except for last Saturday at Plattekill. I have gotten much better and I'm now pretty confident I can ride just about anything in the Catskills, bar some tough moguls or trails that are exclusively ice cookies. I need get some time in the park to work on my freestyle though. More trips to Plattekill and Belleayre every weekend, and hopefully Hunter and Windham (maybe night riding at Windham with some freinds this Friday after a day at Belleayre...). Despite a slow start, conditions are pretty good in the Catskills and I've definatley had more fun this year than any in the past.

the cozy brown snows of the east
4 days so far for me. I broke my hurt on the first run of the season, and took a month off. Last Saturday at Cannon was epic. I'm hoping to get in 20 more though, but we'll see what the hand doctor says.

It would depend on what measuring stick you use.

If one defines there season by high quality snow, then the eastern season so far has not been benchmark; however, it appears to be getting quite good so the best days, as Riv says are just around the corner.

If one defines their season by the overall fun factor that skiing provides: hanging with friends, laughing and joking, enjoying being outside in the mountains, having some bevs with friends and family and just getting to make turns, then the season is always great.

If one defines it by "is my skiing improving" then snow quality and quantity of days can have a big impact on how you feel it is going.

Overall, this season like any other has been rather fun and I think as Riv says the best is yet to come, whether that be with solid eastern coverage, big days of deep hopefully coming in Feb and March, or the proverbial "western" trip, I think when most sit back on a sunny day in late March or early April and reflect on the season, they will smile.

For myself, I hope to get out a bit more in the backcountry of the east, I have some trips coming down the line, so that is always full of anticipation (and sometimes a bit of trepidation, depending on where you are going--I know some are heading to JH and contemplating the big Corbetts drop), and a touring trip in late April. Hoping to hit the ADK backcountry fest March 3 and 4, as well as a bunch of runs to the Presidentials in April. We'll just have to wait and see.

But have I enjoyed the skiing I have had, you bet. In terms of days on snow, it has been meager ( 13 vs the usual 25 or so by this point), in terms of snow quality also pretty meager (1 pow day really), but in terms of why I ski--for the huge fun of flying down the hill and laughing with friends and family, on the lift, in the bar and at the house when it is all over, it, like everyother season simply rocks. It is why I ski.....................

I think I have 4 or 5 days. I am so bored with the machine made. I'm done until woods open or I get off my duff and head further away to places where snow sometimes falls in quantities greater than 5 inches.

I've got around 25 days in so far.

We're at the point in the season (Feb/Mar) when I try to get out 3 times a week.

Up to this point I've been turning 'em 2-3 days a week.

Got a trip to the MRV planned in early March and a week long Presidentials trip slated for the first week of April.

Probably not going to make it out west this season; what else is new?

I'm happy.
