So it's 8:14 and raining in Ma. In fact it's been raining all night. It seems that the rain hasn't arrived yet up North, but it's predicted for the P.M.
Today: Increasing clouds with showers arriving this afternoon. High 44F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 40%

Yes, I saw that too, although NOAA is reporting a 20% chance. Friday and Saturday look OK, with dry evenings. A bit warm during the day, though. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

that sucks that you are not going to make to k this weekend. my friends and i have a condo/timeshare deal rented for the long weekend. some are leaving friday and i will be leaving saturday with a few others to ski on sunday and monday. i would be up there earlier but the bronze pass is blacked out thurs-sat. i cant seem to justify paying for a ticket when i have a pass.

as far as the lady and your kid getting out there i hear ya on that one. my friend had his girlfriend in tears at opening day at hunter a few years ago but she made it down when just one slope was open and it was every man for himself. prolly made her a better skiier. she can rip but needs to be pushed. my lady is just getting started so it would be a long day if i tried to get her up to the mtn this weekend as well.

Thanks bro she does rip, I hope that she will be in the bumps this weekend! I think I am paying for a 1/2 day on sat I just can't wait. See you Sat. go ND

According to the Rep from K that I spoke to at the Boston Ski Expo, No.

We're likely cancelling our trip there this weekend. Wife isn't completely into the Intermediate level yet, nor is the kid. I'm not about to pay holiday rates to get bumped around like a pinball on Great Northern for 3 days...
Good thinking. After getting slammed by a reckless snowboarder last January, I'm quite leary of the skiing at K-mart.

Rain never made it north of Brattleboro. And even then it was nothing.

Anyone go skiing and want to add their comments?

I was at killington yesterday. We were the second group in the line but ended up with the third gondi after the stampede.

The only place you felt crowded was on lower bunny buster. The only lift with a line was the K1 and that was no more than a couple gondolas at any point all morning.

Downdraft headwall was sweet for early season but as we got closer to noon it got really slick. People including kids were going down it that didnt belong there. They had two parks in the glades area that didnt appear to be getting much use. Rime was good all day, upper east fall started to get some really irregular bumps by midmorning that made for a good workout. All of snowdon held up really well troughout the day but the best time was had on mouse trap. The skiers right of mouse trap was sweet, the snow was soft and a good bump line formed.

Last time I was up there they had signifigantly more snow in the glades. Depths may have been 2 - 3' yesterday, when i hiked up in the beginning of november there were spots that were over 10' deep. Overall it was a great day to get the season underway. Considering the weather we have had recently, they offered an excellent product. Crowding was minimal and the surface held up.

Only took a few pics but I'll get them up in the trip forum later this afternoon.
