No I don't live under a rock. I see you still duck my question.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

No, I don't ski at Killington. Never been there, couldn't even find it on a map.

Is it New Hampshire? Somebody told me they moved the area to NH.

Jersey yo!!
It really depends upon the weather. With optimal conditions and round the clock snowmaking, 8-10 days.
Currently the ground is really warm, so we need a few hard freezes so we don't see ground-up melting once snowmaking begins.

Thank you for your answer SpinmasterK. I was in central vermont last weekend and it was much warmer than I thought it would be, but that's gonna change soon enough. Always does.

I appreciate the time you're taking out of your schedule to answer questions about Killington for those of us who still love the place, regardless of some of the tougher changes that your bosses had to make.

Please do not let the naysayers like Highwaystar and others deter you from continued participation in this message board. To those of us who truly know and love the central Vermont ski areas, your input is a breath of fresh air amongst a lot of hostility.

I hope you continue to answer questions (real ones) here on this board.

Thanks again for your input.

What? That doesn't align with the historical numbers at all.

Sounds the classical "downplay expectations so you can trumpet about how great you are when you exceed them" marketing technique. Just like an airline adding an extract 20 minutes to a flight time so they can announce they they arrived early(see Southwest airlines for details ;) )

How great will the press release look when after 3 or 4 days of good snowmaking weather K opens to the fanfare of how great all the $$$ they spent over the summer to upgrade snowgun technology and modernize the system?? Plus, it plays well into the set opening day of Nov 14th if mother nature is a little fickel with cold air ina couple of weeks.(Remember the cr@p they caught last year when they had what traditionally would have been more than enough snow to open on a week earlier than they did).
