I just read on another site that Killington is going to fire up its snow guns tonight so that they can open this weekend. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? Is there any news of any other mountains opening this weekend?

I'm getting excited to hear this kind of news! I've heard that Jay has been getting some real snow too! :D

K Chat said guns possibly tonight. Still think Sat opening is a tough 1. I think tonight or tomorrow morning guns will blow depends if they can get a little round the clock snow making going. At least we are going in the right direction.

I exchanged Emails with Killington this morning and all they'll commit to at this point is that they will fire up snowmaking "very shortly". Opening date is still not set, but I will get notification 1-2 days prior.

with day time temps still in the 40's through the weekend, dont see how it is possible to blow snow around the clock right now

I have little doubt Killington will open late next week.

I have much doubt they will open this weekend.

But dreaming is good! :D

Hey sledhaulingmedic, have you been drinking already?

Now I'm hearing a Monday opening (a crowded one for sure!).

I'm torn! I am off on Thursday so I was going to go then. But I have never been to a weekday opening. Plus, all the snow may be shot by Thursday.

What to do...what to do...

Aw heck, I know the answer... GO SKIING ASAP!

:D

Nice pic :D Certainly adds some validity to the article too (not that there was any doubt! ;) )

That is a nice picture! Hopefully seasonal weather will prevail and other mountains will open. I usuallu wait until after some natural snow has fallen to ski.
