What lifts do you remember skiing that are no longer there, but you wish where still around?

Mine:

Killington Peak Gondola - Killington
Killington Peak Double - Killington
Sunrise Triple - The original full length version
Giant Killer Poma - Pico
Sugarloaf Gondola - Sugarloaf

I'm glad I had the chance to ride the Killington Peak Double. Other than that, any of the lifts that have been replaced during my skiing career probably deserved it. ;)

2006-07 - Last season for the original Single at MRG. Although the replacement will be almost identical, it's just cool to be able to have the chance to ride the original...

G lift at Hunter. It ran up Racer's edge and I could run laps all day on it. When everything else was crowded, there would be nobody on G lift.

I hate that they ripped it out.

That was a good lift for people in the know. What was the rational for taking it down anyway?

I miss the now long gone summit triple at Wildcat because it was great skiing laps high on the mountain when Spring skiing when the base was mush but the corn sweet at the summit.

I don't miss the old Wildcat gondola though as it was slow and a long wait in line.

Boy was that thing ever a tight fit for two skiers, I remember hitting my head on the roof.

I miss the old rope tow at Nashoba Valley that ran up Chief.

That thing was blazingly fast. I remember grabbing the rope and feeling like a cartoon character where my upper body is halfway up the hill but my feet were still at the base.

Me too... i loved that funky little lift... Also like Racers better when the tower was in the middle of the choke...

They needed a chair lift for beginners over on Hunter one...so they ripped out G, castrated it to about 150 yards in length, and put it in over near H lift.

I guess putting it near H lift is supposed to be some kind of alphabetic tribute.

Ugh, like he said, my face is still frostbite from the K-Peak double. Good riddens. The old gondy was cool, but I like the new setup better. The K1 gives you quick laps on great terrain.

I miss the Northeast Passage triple because Sunrise as a mountain was still there, but the lift sucked. Same goes for the old Ramshead double. It would be nice to be able to ski the top again, but that lift was soooo long.

I miss the two lifts that were next to each other at Mt. Snow, Standard and Little Beaver? Or whatever that one was to its right, that went up the Illusion trail. That lift usually didn't have a line and served some nice cruisers.

wildcat gondi.

there really isn't a huge amount of change happening with the single at mrg. most skiers likely won't even notice the difference, there really won't be anything to miss since it will essentially be the same lift with some minor alterations and improvements for safety.
