I believe in diversity. It is a good and very necessary thing in this world I believe. I was stuck by the message of the "I have a dream" speech by Dr. King the very first time I heard it. Many snowboarders, older ones at that, do not ski. I am asking MRG as an act of diversity to allow snowboarders to ride at MRG for one day whether it be on MLK Day or a day of their choosing during the season. It would give an opportunity for many to experience a mountain that under the usual circumstances probably never will.
I am an older snowboarder, I have never skied, I have never been to Mad River Glen. I have a Dream too ...
Think about it ..

Black people can't just become white people...Snowboarders can suck it up and rent a pair of skis for the day and hit Mad River Glen..quit bitching..Snowboarders wouldn't like Mad River Glen..they don't have a halfpipe or a terrain park with a sound system..

(( I can't even comment to the ridiculousness of the above diatribe - on so many levels ))

It's supposed to be funny..haven't we been through this debate before..it's up to the shareholders and 80% of them voted against snowboarders..It doesn't look like MRG will allow snowboarding for a long time..until lots of snowboarders start buying out shares and changing the vote..:uzi::uzi::uzi:

OldSnowboarder..I think you're cool and all but just because you were a veteran doesn't mean you are entitled to ski at Mad River Glen..Think of Mad River Glen as a club for skiers..you can join the club if you ski..simple as that..

I'd say that your answer is almost defininetly no. There are 4 ski areas in the United States that ban snowboarding...MRG, Alta, Taos, and Deer Valley, and none of them are going to change anytime soon.

MRG will allow snowboarding about as soon as they replace the single with a HSQ.

My only entitlement I wish as a veteran, is to be able to "ask" .. oh and the VA headstone ;-) I understand the club concept going on here that has been debated many times.

I support vets!!! I say let him ride MRG...

DMC- Don't you have a split board for touring? Could you split it, get on the lift as a skier, then put it back together?

I think snowboarders should be allowed at MRG one day a year - with the requirement that they cut their snowboard in half lengthwise and put one binding on each half.

Actually, some ski areas should take advantage of this idea - I bet if Killington advertised a "one day only, snowboarders will be allowed!" day, you'd see a whole bunch of them show up all excited!
