F&B may have very well gone past the price point where folks actively choose to consume less vs realizing its expensive, but still have their normal amounts anyway.I get it. But if you have an ear, maybe use it & let them have it. You commented last year on F & B here, and that has been way better this year. If you got some juice, use it. Right now, the decisions on hill sucks out loud. I'd rather have nothing at the Bull Wheel and a closed Iron Loft all year than shitty skiing decisions. I'm not alone. The Facebook lame-ohs are not the core audience they should be listening too. Also of note - this place has been fairly empty, even on weekends. Bruce Jacques ain't bringing in bodies.
I know many of my Taproom regulars, who used to stay there for apres for an hour or 2 (or more) for a few rounds, now with most drinks averaging $12, vs the $8-$10 they used to be, now go have 1, maybe 2 rounds there to meet up with friends, and then leave for other locations (and often a cooler or 2 of BYOB offerings). Even on Sunday afternoons, when there's live music in the Taproom, those of us who usually hang around and take in all or most of the sets (depending on when we get there) now leave much sooner.
The bartenders get it, and while I can't speak yet this season for Bruce crowd levels, I can say that the busiest day I have been in the Taproom this season (MLK Weekend Sunday - i.e. the big snow squall afternoon!) the crowd was to my eye somewhere in that 2/3rds - 3/4ths size of what a really busy day crowd has been in the past. Just my own observation and opinion. No clue if objective sales numbers jive with my observations...
