I'm surprised you didn't include Sunapee...

I enjoy going there (mainly because I don't have high requirements or expectations), but some may consider it to be overrated...

Yep, Sunapee is on that list too....

No, my days of trying to correct the naysayers are over...not gonna fight with Hunter bashers anymore.

Thanks Andyzee...you're right, Hunter is overrated. So you keep on driving the extra 2 hours up to the mighty K, the resort that is everything to everybody. Don't ever stop at Hunter...it sucks.

As much as Wildcat and Burke.

Thought it was over??? this post doesnt sound like its over?????

Notice, I threw in Wildcat after you quoted me.

And how many times have you skied Burke???

I think Zee was just trying to get some attention...

As for Stowe, most of their stuff consisted of easy cruisers with people who could not ski...but wanted to wear expensive skiwear. Their trees: legit. Their expert stuff on Forerunner: legit.

That scene from First Blood just popped into my head. Can't you just imagine JimG. dressed as Rambo in the corner, shaking:

"Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off!"

I also would put SR on the overrated list and looking at the reader survey's the past few years I would put Holiday Valley on the list as well. I know that many of you don't give the readers survey's of the ski magazines alot of credibility but most people who are actually in the ski resort business do.

If you name a resort to be over-rated it first has to be highly rated, to be under-rated it first has to be low in the rankings. Would be curious to hear what that source is when you post to these overrated/underrated threads.

If your going to get all defensive and upset when a resort you like is mentioned I don't think this thread is going to work.

I'll assume you're referring to me, but really, I'm not upset. It's good for me that folks don't like Hunter. And the ski rag data proves that...Hunter is hardly ever mentioned, except for nightlife which is so decades old it proves how useless those resort rankings are.

No, everyone who goes there once every 3 years have it right, Hunter is overrated, even though it doesn't even make it on any ratings list.

It's so overrated it's unrated.

I would say Sunday River is overrated. Short runs and I feel I end up pushing myself across the Mtn all day. Maybe I am skiing it wrong. I am surprised Attitash was mentioned I think it is marketed exactly as it is.

Hehe, yeah, slow day at the office. I know Hunter would rile up a few folks, you're good for Burke, and Wildcat, well guess the lad isn't around right now. On the flip side, how much Killington bashing do we get a day?

Add to that list, Whiteface, Jiminey, Jay, Cannon, Sugarloaf, Berkshire East, Pat's, Crotched... and ahh....

Well, you bastards tell me first what your favorite resort is, and then I'll tell you why it's overrated.
