He was a very engaging guy who clearly had a lot of fun at work as he always seemed happy. I had absolutely no idea he didn't ski or snowboard.

he's a pirate because the bonaventure was his pirate ship. he was THE liftie at the Bonaventure, forever. the day would not begin until mike scaled the bonnie, wildly waved a jolly roger, and hollered that we were open for business. he was omnipresent at jay peak. a tremendous loss for the jay community

he also never wore a hat. ever. no matter the temp. no matter the weather. just wild black hair down his back and all black clothes. every day.

he apparently worked yesterday, so i am assuming car crash or drugs. very sad.
I can assure you that it was neither car crash nor drugs!

Michael and I share 2 grown daughters and have been constants in each other's lives for over 30 years. It was an accident at home and thats all I will say on it. May he never be forgotten. Legends never die!🏴‍☠️
Sorry for your loss. While I never skied Jay, it is clear from the outpouring of support just how much he was loved and respected by the community there.

So sorry for your loss and so glad my assumption was wrong. He touched a lot of people.

That’s crazy to me that you’ve never skied jay. Go next season. Easy trip from waitsfield

I find it very difficult to motivate myself to literally drive past the Sugarbush base area to go ski somewhere else. Even the 1 hour drive to Stowe or K from the MRV seem like an eternity now lol.

And before I had the condo at Sugarbush, my driving distance for a long weekend trip was limited to about a 5 hour drive (so even Stowe was pushing it at 5.5 hrs from NJ).

Sorry for you and your family's loss. Its been a few years but I remember him always charting people up on the lift and generally enjoying his job. A Legend is a great description!
