Season pass question

Just a quick question, is there a best time to buy a season pass, end of season, spring, summer, early pre-season...
I think I am going to get the mid week Okemo/Sunapee/Stratton pass. I really liked the feel of Okemo, it felt old school, but I could be dead wrong. Anyway, just curious if one time is better than another to buy a pass, I know not to buy one in early December or the regular season, usually.

Thanks.

...

the earlier the better.

plus shop around for good deals. i just moved to new england so this season im trying to hit up a bunch of different places. i'll probably end up with a pass to cannon (if you work in education its $399). but decide which pass you want and see when it is cheapest to buy.

Thanks. I'm trying to hit a bunch of different areas this winter so I can be ready for next year and not get raped financially, but after this winter, I am pretty hesitant to get a season pass, 2 bad years in a row, that kinda makes me nervous.

Yes, but I'd recommend getting one for this reason exactly. Suck weather means you can't pick and choose as much as you'd like. Which means you may only get half days, or quarter days. And those days are the ones that will cost you the most over time.

At the end of this season the deals will come out. Some will offer deals such as buy NEXT season's pass and ski the rest of this season on it. That is a good deal. However, Okemo is VERY expensive for their passes....VERY expensive. They are bucking the trend of the falling season pass price market.

And I don't think that calling Okemo "old school" is accurate....try places like Cannon, Burke, and MRG. You'll see what I mean.

Thanks. I thought I saw a mid-week pass for Okemo/Sunapee/Stratton that was reasonably priced.
I just got a good vibe from Okemo, maybe because noone was there. Stratton on Wed... should be a chilly one

Hey, if you like Okemo and find a good deal, go for it.

We're not going to say you're wrong....every person walks their own walk and skis...well...you get it.

What matters is what you like. And besides, we need some more folks on AZ who ski at Okemo...we don't have much of a crowd there. :)

Is there something wrong with Okemo? Sorry, I am really new to the area and not familiar with ski areas and their reputations. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with it. I like it a lot. But I'm more of an intermediate. I think the general knock on Okemo is that the terrain is kind of tame.

for the past two season at least okemo has offered next years pass in march and ski the remainder of the season for free.
okemo midweek is a good deal; their seven day pass is very expensive.

No, it's just really expensive and not much terrain variety.

Other than that, well run and good snowmaking.

Just don't tell anyone who likes Killington. They might start to :flame: :uzi: :smash:

Yea, I got that impression that they don't play well together. I'm not claiming any particular resort as my 'own' (yet), but I can see how loyalty would bring up your hackles if poked about
'your' mountain.

Crappy weather gives me all the more reason to buy a seasons pass. I couldnt fathom paying full price lift tickets in a season like this.

I have the Cannon/Gunstock/Sunapee college pass as well as the Whiteface/Gore college pass. Both were great buys and I recomend them both.

Makes me want to go to college just to be able to buy the cheaper passes. :-D

What kind of classload do they require? 15 credit hours?
