So I am on the fence here. Looking at the weather and the snow I am really really tempted to drive up tonight so that I can ski tomorrow... what do you think? Wait till saturday to ski or drive up tonight?

Here are the things holding me back:
1. Work - I already missed Monday and Tuesday this week while skiing in Sugarbush
2. Timining - the earliest I can be there is 2am (7 hour drive)
3. Weather - looks like very cold and windy still tomorrow (Wind Hold??)
4. An extra night of hotel stay plus missed work (fall behind on the to do list, etc...)

My original thinking was that given the wind and the sick amount of powder, and the potential avy warnings, Saturday might still have a fair amount of fresh snow left in Sugarbush and Stowe. But now I am having these scary thoughts that all the powder whores on AZ will track it out before I get there!

So tell me what you think I should do... and i'll do the opposite.

I think both of you should stay home and not ski tomorrow. Go to work and do chores around the house instead.

Some thoughts. If you drive up tonight, you'll have to return tomorrow. You simply will not find a room Friday night if you don't already have reservations. I have probably turned away 40 people in the last two days. There might be something in downtown Burlington, away from the resorts, but even then, I don't know. Second, if you do come up tonight, get a room before you leave. I only have about three rooms left for tonight and I'm expecting they'll fill up with people doing just what you're doing. Call before you come and you'll probably find something. Wait until you arrive sometime after dark and it could get ugly.

Having said that, if you can swing a one day trip, why not do it? You won't see better snow up here, ever.

dude- there is alot of wind and blowing snow. There will be heavy Jerz - to vt driving tonight which means heavy on the gas pedal, light on the caution. arriving at 2am sucks as does driving that late at night.
that's all.
safety rules.

Drive... I would if I didn't have to work.

And who needs a room, take a sleeping bag and lean the seat back.

ps-but yeah, just make sure winds won't have lifts closed - that's the only thing

I dunno where you've been looking at the weather, but it looks like it's gonna be pretty warm (20s). It might be a little windy but nothing like today.
