Last two seasons I've been used to reading Herb Stevens forecasts on his webpage theskiingweatherman.com. It's not there anymore. Anybody know what happened? I know that he is still on T.V.- or at least that's what snocountry.com says.

Yes i miss his extremely optimistic weather predictions. When there seems like there is no hope, this guy always gives the best case scenerio, thus brightening the day for many skiers.

Well would Mr. Roemer's paysite make you happier? At least he gives out free info.

His predictions are so far fetched. I wouldn't let him pay me to listen to him. He runs on about 10% accuracy.

I'm well aware- but i do like his use of google earth and the NWS interactive snow analysis...
back to the real question - "where have you gone Herb Stevens?"

the only skiing weatherman you really need for new england is powderfreak, aka scott, over on FTO and skivtl. though scott is not technically a weatherman, rather just a regular guy in college, he is almost always spot on. tim kelly from necn is probably one of the more well known and better forecasters along with some of the other necn folks.

I'd have to agree about Tim Kelly too.Except when he lost a bet with me on snowfall amounts that would fall at Cannon. He gladly paid up at the the bar on his next visit. Thanks for th beer Tim!

There are lots of good weathermen out there for skiing. I just was wondering where my main man Herb went.
I read all of the weather forecasters out there.

Herb's seasonal long term forcasts were actually very good. As were his weekly's. I think he used to be on one of the Albany networks years ago.

Yup, he was the weatherman for the NBC affiliate in Albany back in the late 80's/Early 90's. He also in other career incarnations used to caddy on the PGA tour for Larry Nelson.

I had the chance back when I was in college to talk with Herb at a charity event, real nice guy, and definately a ski addict!
