Well I got somethin for you guys-
A small but respectable resort down here is planning a saturday opening! Resorts all over down here are blastin, only a matter of time before I do. I do have a feeling that if this comes true, snowshoe will try to 1-up them by a suprise opening. Kinda like the wildcat-killington thing goin on.

not trying to diss snowshoe here, but i don't think kmart or any other new england ski area is even remotely concerned about when shoeshoe opens. even if snoeshoe did open before the rest, it still can't claim 'first to open status' which wildcat aleady has and you can't really one up kmart for having grown a pair and opened for a weekend already. hope snoeshow can pull it out for you guys down south, but i can't see comparing it to the wildcat-kmart race to open first in the east.

I dont think they bother either. All the NE likes to claim is the first opening. But if im not mistaken, didnt snowshoe beat NNE for first opening before? I think they did, but cant remember right.

And when I said the wildcat-killington thin, I didnt mean ours aginst yours, I was referring to cataloochee-snowshoe. As in snowshoe being kmart of the south...
