I'm thinking Thursday might be the winner. The trip to the Catskills is generally a bit over 2 hours for me in perfect weather. Three feet of snow could turn that into 8 hours.

Im getting up at 530 am tomorrow morning to try and make the 80 miles to Whiteface before first chair. Hoping that Ill be driving early enough in the storm that the roads are still doable.

looks like i will be able to sneak away from work tomorrow for a while and get to burke. should be high winds tomorrow, so a low to the ground poma and open terrain and narrow trails with high powder retention will be favorable. i would expect wind holds at most mountains tomorrow. road conditions will be excessively dangerous so do be careful out there. thursday i plan to leave work early at the earliest possible moment to get a few runs at burke. i can bag at least the morning on friday but am trying to swing the entire day and then all weekend. possibly five days in a row, fingers crossed. i wasn't planning on anything but a possible friday dawn patrol, but a variety of factors of coming into place to allow a lot more flexibility this week than i had expected.

I think I have changed my plan. I don't feel like getting stuck up at Mt. Snow.. may just do Jiminy Geek tomorrow and shell out 40 bucks, ugh. 4WD and drive slow is key, but its the other drivers I worry about.
