Stowe or Smuggs? for Saturday Anyone been in the trees at smuggs? any snow? What about the snow conditions at Stowe? Any gladed runs open. The last time I skied them was last year. Any new trip reports? I love the cold weather. BRING ON THE COLD:flag:

Truth in advertising. Just talked with my Stowe bud. Stowe says they are 100% open. He counted several closed trails. Groomed all over, BUT they didn't touch any of the 4-6" last weekend.

I have a real problem with Stowe's 'official' reports. I don't ski there much, but the last 4 times I have gone (over about 4 or 5 years), they have advertised themselves as 100% open. Not once was Goat open, and in every case there were a number of other trails closed as well. Buyer beware, I guess.

I was at Smuggs (Jan 19-24) and there was plenty of snow in the trees and more has opened up...also alot of the double blacks (Robins Run) and the Triple Black (Black Hole) are open....Smuggs is great with as challenging terrain as Stowe, it just dosent get the crowds due to its location....i've never been disappointed with the challenge at Smuggs either in the trees or on any of the double or blacks, will definatly get your heard and adreniline pounding...

Stowe glades have got to be hammered. Not a ton of snow in the forcast. In NVT in general above 2500 feet trees are filling in. 15-20 inchs pow on top of 8-12 inches base. Still not full throttle unless you are familiar with the run, or it is trimmed and cleaned. I've heard people talking about all the regularly skiied BC options so I'm pretty sure it's all played....for now.
