Still fun to be had at 3:55

Nice! I ended up quitting around 1:45. Nice to get home while it was still light out. Got 20k of all woods or powder today. I'm beat after 2 days of insanity.

Honestly after my first two runs I didn't think I was gonna make it an hour. The six pack start was a bit of a bummer and I went looking for wide open powder on Hayride on my first run, but it was blower on top of a sheet of ice the whole way (imo this trail ALWAYS sucks) and I ate shit twice. Second run I went in the woods and my legs just didn't wanna go. But I looked down the crossover near the bottom and saw Four Runner moving so I went over and got in line. I must've gotten a second wind once that happened. The powder run down Liftline was very tiring, but I felt good skiing the light pow in the woods as well as the tops of Goat, Starr, and Lookout (the latter of which was in amazing shape). I could've probably gone another two hours but it's a long season, walking away while I still felt good was the right decision.

Best way to get out of the ice on hayride is the woods on the left.

I just cross my fingers that the top of Lookout is open. As much as I love those woods even the top 1/4 of Hayride isn't worth skiing to get to them. I did that yesterday and once I stopped skidding on the steep I entered directly into the woods without passing go and collecting $200.

I'm not sure if there's a groomed trail out there that I despise more. Lol

I was hoping this morning that the powder would make it skiable (and this is from the 6 pack so I was below the steep) but it was just awful. I don't know why it's always so bad. It's not like it was typical scraped groomer...it was bulletproof ice.

Off the 6 is a trail that cuts right to the opening of the woods...now you just have to slide across and into the woods..
Its great when only the 6 is running...

When Hayride is dialed you can't beat it.

My all time favorite trail on the mountain.

It was living up to it's FIS standard last week! Skied it at usual speed with my old Kendos and a sharp fresh tune, with no worries.

Came back day two, on new Blaze 94s and it was alot sportier & sketchier. I bailed into Tres and the Blaze shined. They're keepers.

Saw that Stowe Mtn Rescue got 2 call outs above EH over the weekend. No casualties. 2nd call was for an uncle and 2 teens following tracks, most likely from the 1st call. They got cliffed. SMR got them to backtrack up to top of Spruce for an ATV evac. Uncle said they were going to the BD bowls.

Both parties were lucky considering the 200+ footers in the notch... stay safe and if you don't know, don't go.

Its friggin amazing..every time ive traveled to utah...its dumped non stop...
I move here..and it dries up.
But...it has snowed enough that that ive gotten plenty of powder days so far.
Its actualy better to get around a foot than a massive dump that shuts everything down for a while.
No complaints about the move...
