guess we'll flip a coin then, we plan to ski both mountains. is one affected less if it is windy?

Depends on direction. Generally speaking wind will impact Summit and North Ridge at ME and the Heaven's Gate, North Lynx, and Castlerock lifts.

But generally speaking ME is generally colder, darker, and windier. As a result there are often less people.

Wow I got you all psyched for Stowe. Now all you have to do is cough up another nights lodging & add $23 to the lift ticket price & you can ski there for 2 days. If you order extra cheese on your pizza you'll have dinner for two nights. Such a deal...

You're going to have a good time ! I skied at Stowe on Saturday and Mt Ellen today. Both mountains have been getting a lot of snow and conditions are great. At Mt Ellen make sure you take a few runs off the Inverness chair. It's not likely to have any issues with wind, and if you are a fan of natural snow and moguls you have to ski Semi Tough and Brambles. Both Semi Tough Woods and Brambles Woods are also in prime shape. Stowe was a blast on Saturday - I skied the Mansfield side until late in the afternoon and finished the day in the sun on Spruce Peak. Whirlaway, Upper Smugglers and Spruce Line are well worth the trip to the top of Spruce Peak.

Conditions could not be better. i skied woods from castelrock over into slidebrook today. They are primed and more fresh tonight. Have fun.

sorry i missed this, went to bed early last night. ended up with a burger and beer @ Ake's Den. conditions today were excellent.
