Buck up and buy the ASC pass and be done with it. :argue: Still the best deal and yes Nothern lights and Risky business are better IMO. I'll beat you into submission yet. Besides you will have the ability to do more trail reports with more mountain choices. We like TB's trail reports.

Agreed. You can slice and dice this until you're blue in the face, but if you ain't doing a SB pass, then get the All For One. There are plenty of options for you and the misses and you'll find terrain that both you and she enjoys.

If you like any challange yes it is. Now for the positive about Pokemo (my wife loves the place).

Her list.

1. Virtually all of the chairs are quads so the four of us can all ride together and most of them are HS with the exception of the 2 out of the base area.

2. They groom a significant amount of thier trails so there is plenty of easy to intermediate cruisers.

3. They tend to have good coverage on open trails.

A couple more negatives

1. Parking and lodge access is a nightmare

2. The base lodge is cramped midweek, I can't even imagine what it would be like on the weekend.

3. Not much for scenic views from the lower mountain area unless you like cityscapes.

I have been skiing there since 1989-1990 and I can say that IMO the positives are:

1) Good lift network with 5HSQ chairlifts.

2) Aggressive snowmaking and grooming and a fairly
long season.

3) Great food at Jackson Gore base lodge, not just
your standard greasy fare.

4) Ludlow right at the base of the mountain, no long
hike for lodging and food.

Negatives:

1) Massive crowds on weekends, and the base lodges
get really buzy (start the day at Jackson Gore)

2) Lower elevation can/mean rain at Okemo when it is
snowing at Killington/Pico.

3) Trails get boring after awhile and start to ski in
a similar fashion.

4) Religious grooming (read very few bumps)

5) Starting out at Okemo base lodge means riding the
beginner quad lifts to get to the North Star
express chair :x :x :x

In my opinion, I would rather have a ASC pass.

Ms TB is still hot on the Okemo/Sunapee/Stratton/Cannon/Gunstock pass. Compromise I guess, but no final decision.

I'm kind of reminiscing my time at K-mart and Pico in particular

Look into that a little further. Okemo lists thier college pass as okemo and sunapee. Gunstock list it as Gunstock, cannon and Sunapee. Sunapee doesn't list a college pass on their web sit and Cannon has 2004/05 info with no college pass listed. Stratton list it as Stratton/okemo. So it looks like you don't get to ski all of those area's on one pass.

I would still go with the ASC pass.

You share the same skepticism as me...

what tree_skier said. cannon hasn't even posted their 05-06 rates, i'd be amazed they are involved with that type of pass offer, wow. i was debating a cannon pass, but went for burke on cheap early season rates. get cannon half off with the burke pass though. i don't think cannon is going to shift pass prices anything except up after dropping last year's passes any ways.

you gonna be close to the bush or mrg TB? i bet ms. TB would appreciate the bush and you could tag mrg when you want to do something a little more adventursome.

Still waiting for offers....apparently Okemo actually has placed an age limit on their student passes

Right now looking like Cannon, Sunapee, Gunstock and Burke.

ASC... everyone's doin it man...

I only vote that because of acreage and vertical drop and trail count and moutains per dollar still make it the best deal.

Plus I have one and who wouldn't want to ski with me :D

So, TB, still no decision? If you go the Sunapee/Cannon/Gunstock route, let me know- we spend a lot of time at Sunapee, and often do nights at Gunstock. Still haven't tried it during the day, though. Will probably hit Cannon again this year, hopefully with better conditions than the one day we did last year.

We've come up with this: Sunapee/Cannon/Gunstock Pass for both of us.

For me: Burke Pass as well.

May also consider a Whaleback night pass if it is cheap...we'll see...

Okemo Black diamonds = snore :D

Okemo is okay for fast lifts and great snowmaking/grooming, but don't look for anything terribly steep.

Really? I had heard that they had some decent advanced skiing and riding.

If you've skied Killington and liked it, you will get bored fast at P-Okemo-n. It's a good mountain if you enjoy cruising groomed trails. Sorry if someone else already posted this but this is the first time I read this thread.

This just in:

Trailboss News Service said:
TRAILBOSS AUTHORIZES PURCHASE OF CANNON/SUNAPEE/GUNSTOCK PASS

At 6pm tonight, Trailboss authorized the purchase of a 2005-6 New Hampshire "Break Out" pass featuring all access to Cannon, Sunapee, and Gunstock, three of New Hampshire's premier resorts. This concludes months worth of deliberation by Trailboss and his friends at AlpineZone.

"Seeing snow on the ground really motivated me to get 'er done," said Trailboss, who added that Sunapee confirmed that he and Ms. Trailboss DID fit into their College Pass requirements.

"The biggest selling points for us including Sunapee's location, price, and the Cannon access with no blackouts," he continued.

Trailboss is still in negotiations with Burke Mountain regarding their pass program. A decision will likely come in November. Burke would not comment on their future plans or the Trailboss deal.

"Thanks to the AZ folks, we were able to weigh the options and come up with this decision," said Trailboss adding that many friends at Dartmouth will be buying into the program as well. Trailboss has also received invites to ski with several folks from AZ at Sunapee this season, to which he was "flattered."

Speaking with optimism, Trailboss concluded that he hopes that the Burke deal will go through. "For about the amount of money that an ASC All For One deal would have cost, I can ski four mountains that I want to ski and that offer better variety and value."
