I was thinking that could be the plan,… he takes over a whole pod and they close it off to the public. VH would be the only lift that would make sense to do it. I just can’t imagine they would close off a lift or trails to people that have paid for lift tickets and passes so JD can get a day of skiing.
what about north lynx?

They’re not going to close VH just for him. He will slip lift lines and be in a bubble, no one will be allowed near him or his family.

Vance and his family skied in Snowmass over Christmas while we were there this year. Nothing was backed up or closed on the mountain during their visit.

Christmas of 2020 Mike Pence and his family were staying at our hotel in Vail. The place was a sh*t show during his visit. As a guest you could see the hotel staff was in disarray tending to all of his needs as well as the secret service which took up a whole floor. It's funny because Pence stayed in Vail but he and his family skied at Beaver Creek.

What are we thinking regarding the conditions for this weekend? I have a room booked, but need to confirm but need to make a firm decision soon. I'd like to go, but my wife would prefer that I stay home for social plans. If the conditions are good I'd like to go, but bad conditions and the VP and his entourage could convince me to skip this weekend.

Not as good as last weekend, but better than most first weekends in March. WIld card is what this latest development will do logistically.

I was at Snowmass on 3 trips when the Obamas were there. A place like Snowmass can handle it, as it’s huge and they have trails that are 250 yards wide.
Can you imagine him coming down any of these trails? Upper snowball, Downspout, any of the trails off Gatehouse? It’s a busy Saturday, not only will the lifts be packed, but trails will be too. I honestly feel bad for Secret Service- how do you secure a ski trail even if it’s closed?

I'm not really worried about the weather. Base areas will be slightly above freezing a bit. Mid-mountain and up will mostly stay below freezing. So expect the snow down low to compact a little and firm up a bit. Nothing too serious. And if there's any fresh snow (even a couple inches here and there), everything should be fine.

The logistics for SS would be a nightmare.

Can you imagine buzzing by him on Downspout while he's snowplowing in jeans? LOL.

Nowhere now, but everywhere
Yeah, that would be the most secure place for him to ski - as it’s the most difficult to access from other parts of the mountain and would have the least impact to the public.
Why not let the Vance family have one entire mountain while everyone else gets the other? LP vs. ME. I predict they put him on Lincoln due to lift reliability.

I’d like to see the Snow Reporter’s Email that notifies the world of this decision…..
Today we will be skiing and sliding on 56 groomed trails and 111 total trails. We've received over 8 feet of snow this month alone so be careful of those tree wells. If you happen to see JD Vance upside down in a tree well, he's probably just looking for some privacy with his couch.

Maybe if people treat JD with some respect he will redirect some of the DOGE savings to all new high speed lifts at Sugarbush and send in maintenance staff l to get them running when the season starts 😁

I seem to recall Trump saying that on his first day in office that he would replace NRX and fix Slide Brook. ;) Kind of like how the price of eggs was going to drop. He is still working on that.
