Personally I do like to mix it up and utilized my Ikon days at Killington. Its a fun mountain to ski on a Friday. The fact that the new owners are putting in millions $$ is a good thing for Killington and a good thing for the industry. A rising tide raises all ships.

Agree 100%! When Killington is thriving, that often helps encourage so many other mountains in the East to up their game a bit, and we all benefit from that

I can report that they few concrete Friday afternoon. Also there is a flatbed of piping, both bull wheels, a very large cable spool and other metal fabrication at the base. Things seem to be progressing.

Helicopter operations today. More concrete being flown to the top of the lift and structural steel flown to install at the loading terminal. Looks like the superstructure of the terminal itself.

I also spied what appeared to be a crane boom up top.

Interesting. The new quad would be wider but I didn't think it would be that wide. There must be some general rule about the proximity of any tree to the lift.

Inspectors are usually lenient but yes, no adjacent tree can be close to hitting the haul rope, towers, or carriers. this becomes more strict on a new install and why liftlines are widened even if they don't appear to require it.

I really wouldn't consider this point "early" leaf out at that elevation...

I may have run into VTer or someone like him today.
I was in Waitsfield with my wife and our dog. We were walking down 100 just past the farmers market and our dog has to do his business,… no big deal, this is what dogs do and of course I am prepared with baggies waiting. While I am standing there, a guy in an SUV with green plates drives by with his window rolled down and yells out “pick the shit up you mother fucker”.

I’m a home owner and been coming here for over 30 years,…. Never had something like that type of run in with a local. Not sure what the deal is and why all the hate/anger. Left a real bad taste in my mouth. I guess I should just chalk it up to the fact there are assholes everywhere. I told the story to another local and she just shook her head with embarrassment.

You’re assuming that this is “a local” as opposed to someone who moved there from away.
