Wildcat is a mess. Some issues self-inflicted, some out of their control. It sucks both for the guests and the people trying to run it. Groomers going down, Snowcat blowing its control board (1970's Riblet... word in the parking lots is that they may have found a replacement... on Ebay... hopefully it spins soon), limited snowmaking capacity due to whatever.

Terrible product 3 years running. Only Mother Nature can save things there now (again!), though snowmaking efforts on Middle/Lower Polecat and Lynx hopefully pay off soon in case Mother Nature has given up on Wildcat as much as the locals have.

The thing I find most insulting (and I'm not really a customer anymore) is there has been zero accountability or apology for the poor performance. Hell, there's barely been admission that they are letting skiers down at all.

At least under Peak, when their system failed, they owned it and promised to address it. I haven't seen that from Vail at all. I think they're just praying mother nature bails them out.

Hit Cranmore on Fri and BW Sat Both were in good shape. Not too crowded at all

Snowcat is done for a while...... Can't always use a refurb or used panel.

Dude, it's Vail; they DGAF.

Here, I made an AI generated cartoon image for you of Rob Katz laughing in his Colorado office, while reading customer complaints.

the suit is sharp, and i like the industrial chic of his office. i live in a converted factory loft with concrete floors and beams and exposed brick. i like this aesthetic.

Because that terrain is hard to kill and they got natural. Lots of other f’d up things have gone on there. Stowe is not immune to the Vail fuckups.
Honestly as long as the Four Runner runs from 8-4 everyday I could care less about whatever warts are present behind the scenes. I get it... the other Vail resorts aren't in the same position for mother nature to bail them out from their bullshit, but as long as the snow is deep and the lifts are turning then I'm good.

"Amazing. I am flattered. Truly flattered. I could stare at myself all day!"

AI was generous making him younger, thinner, and much better dressed

I was going to tinker with additional parameters realizing it looked a bit too young & fit, but then I realized Rob Katz is exactly the type guy who would have something commissioned of himself and make it look way better than reality, and I thought it perfect.

I suppose when you're a near monopoly in many markets, you don't have to GAF
If I had to guess, they GAF enough that they don't want to sell to someone who might run things differently and draw customers away from Attitash (or other Epic properties), but not enough to try to build the place up themselves. But I'm just guessing.

The son of my kids' teacher picked the wrong week to have a bad accident at Park City. Punctured lung, fractured vertebrae and a broken rib. Apparently it took patrol right about an hour to get there. Gotta wonder if they knew how serious it was. If true, that's a crazy bad response time. Sounds like he'll be okay, but he's still in the hospital out there.
