You've never seen it happen, because we don't live in Utah. It's part of the deal living in the Northeast, and makes those powder days even more enjoyable.

Not totally true all the time. I lived out west for many years and they have their bad spells too. It's not powder everyday in Utah like the brochures say. Utah just got some snow but Snowbird and Part City both only have a couple of trails open, Alta isn't open yet and Deer Valley doesn't open until 12/4

The other thing to note is that I used to live in Utah and eventually you have to come down off the slopes. At the end of the day, or, say, July, where would you rather live, Utah or Vermont? ;)

I keep waiting for the year where everything comes together by Thanksgiving and we stay 100% open until the end of March, but I've never seen it happen.

I can't remember the year, roughly 12 years ago,Cannon opened on T-day weekend with 100% of the terrain.Rivercoil would appreciate this.It was the first time I skied Tuckerbrook on opening day.About 3 feet of deep powder but numerous blowdown areas from a microburst. We actually couldn't find which way to get down.
