Whaleback

Hey there, just here to say that Whaleback is on its way of reopening, and will be reopening mid-december, time permitting. They have already started to make snow, and its building up on the mountain. THey are still under some big construction projects insider the lodge and the rental place, but they hope to be rapping that up soon.

I will be a ski instructor in the Mountain school at Whaleback, and im really excited to see it open up again after being closed for four years.

I'm kinda surprised that Whaleback, at last check, was not listed in SnoCountry :-? I'd think they would want to be in there...I know that the Boston Globe has given them some good publicity. I imagine they are blowing snow at the Whale as I type...at least I hope they are...

They were getting the groomer warmed up for tonight though.

I concur with the website...good start, but get a snow report on there.

Wow, I just saw that. So your teaching skiing but bought a pair of skis not knowing what they are for or what they were. That kinda scares me. I dont think I would ever take a lesson there

Also, is whaleback going to be like a giant terrian park or what, because it is pretty much going to be a freestyle skiing scene. I think thats a pretty cool idea actually, some many park skis around now-a-days you think there were would be somewhere just made for them.

THe guy that sold the skis to me didn't tell me much about them, Ie been skiing for about 7 years now though. First shape skis, cant wait to try them out tomarrow!!
