Middlebury snow bowl right down the road! Maybe hike it this spring?

Definitely check it out once we get some more snow. It is a nice place.

For me there were a few when I lived in WRJ...all within 30 minutes:

-Suicide Six
-Whaleback
-Storr's Hill (I hiked it)
-Dartmouth Skiway (hiked it)
-And Ascutney (I never heard ANYTHING about this place)

I've been to Ascutney on a powder day, and it was quite fun, nice little place.

Campgaw too.

Campgaw for me too. Now if they seeded a good bump run, I'd prob buy a season pass!

Probably Nashoba. Closest to school (other than Lyndon Outing Club which is open about 10 days a year so it's hard to hit) I believe is Bretton Woods.

I'm 4.8 miles from Ski Ward and I've never skied there. I grew up in Franklin, Ma. but never skied Klien Insbrook (sp?).

I'm sure there're quite a few of them I don't know about. If I know about them, I usually give them a try.

On the other hand, I don't go out of my way to bother with hills under 1k vertical unless I heard something great about them, or they happen to be right next door (e.g. Thunder Ridge, 10 miles away).

As such, I heard about Hidden Valley, and the whole collections around the NJ/NY borderline. But none of them are over 1k vert and all are a good hour or more away. I wouldn't consider them as "close by" so there's no motivation to ski them.

The closest over-1k-vert hill I haven't tried is Jiminy Peak & Gore. Neither of them are convenient for me. So no plan to hit either in the near future.

King Pine is the closest to me that I have not skied. It is about a 1/2 hour away. Next closest would be Mt Abram.

So knocked off Blue Hills today. Now, next closest is McIntyre. Yagoo would be after that. I'm really not itching to get to either, considering the lengthy 60-80 mile drive.

You definitely need to check out Mt Abram. On a powder day, I'd prefer to ski Abe over Sunday River most of the time. There's definitely as good of terrain to be found on Abe as the River, just less of it, which means far less people too.
