I usually go to Okemo that weekend but they weren't top to bottom yet..Skiing is skiing though..even with 5,000 people

i did it once. never again. its not about what you (or i) can avoid, its who has you in their crosshairs. at least thats how i felt.

After seeing pictures like this on riverc0il's site I don't think I'd ever go to Killington early season...

Haha..human Slalom course..that looks like a typical day at Blue mountain...when it's that crowded it's tough for me to ski the way I like to...I've gotten good at Olly-ing over peoples skis though..lol

Probably on my first day off work after Nov. 10th at Belleayre, as long as any trail bigger than the bunny hill is open. But if something within about 2 1/2 hours opens earlier I'll go there.:daffy:

I think this about sums it up:

(Sign #1,243 of skiing withdrawal: you stop dreaming about a foot of powder and start dreaming about a light dusting on grass.)

Just as soon as someone within driving distance starts spinning a lift on a weekend! Probably mid Nov at SR. But you never know, someone could get good weather early and surprise us! (I hope) :snow:

friday after thanksgiving has begun my season for the last 10 years....2-3 of those years were at Hunter I believe, and the last 7 have been at Killington. Crowds don't scare me off, just a big slalom course as someone else said.

The long range forecast shows snowmaking temps for Northern New England later next week..maybe a little marketing snowmaking to blow the mice out of the guns..

I'll likely wait until Jan. I may hit a small local hill in Dec. but Dec. 20th would put me only 9 months removed from ACL replacement, just about on the fringe. If it dumps early, I'll be more likely to do some Nordic to keep strengthening the leg.
