I live in Andover,MA and am looking for a good place for my intermediate snowboarding son ( loves some steeps and also wants a good park) and beginner skiing 5 year old. I am looking for somewere close by (less than or equal to 1 hour and 30 minutes)
My options are-- Pats Peak- $225 for both ( if i get this i will be able to take them to many other places due to low price!)
Crotched Mountain- 598
or Sunapee - 678

Witch should i pick? also i was wondering if i would be able to get a free 6 year old season pass with only a young adult ticket at sunapee as you do get a free one with a adult pass...

I am actually thinking of a pats peak seasons pass...... for the park and for the decent trails.... and then a flex card at sunapee so i can still save money when i go there....

I think that would work well for both kids... but what would u think my pats and sunapee combo or just sunapee or gunstock?

Pat's peak has more steeps then Crotched, but more Crotched has a much larger park (both size and range of difficulty) I do find Crotched has smaller lift lines, but Pat's does have longer intermediate runs. Crotched has better snowmaking, but Pat's is easier to get to from the highway.

Was, why $598 for Crotched, and 225 for Pats? Not seeing where those prices come from.

Thanks.... yea im pretty much set on Pats I took both of my kids there yesterday.... the older one loved the park and the younger one had a great time on the greens. I am going to make this combo... pats peak seasons passes and sunapee flex card (20-50%off lift tickets)

As for the prices the reason pats is much cheaper is if I buy it now... my younger ones lift ticket will be 25 dollars as they count age on purchase while crotchett is as of Jan 1st

Are you getting a season pass as well, or just the kids?

You may want to consider Ace ski club instead of the flex card. You can get some tickets a multiple areas for 50% off or better with a membership of $20.

Thanks for the great responses.... and to answer the quesitons only the kids will be as me and my wife wont be able to get out enough to redeem the costs.... also thanks for the advice on the Ace membership...

Also... which place would be better for a beginner skiier and a intermidiate snowboarder (steeper trails) I have heard that the park is better at crotched but turbulence was fun. After looking into the ace card it has good discounts but they would not apply to my kids who will be skiing the most (us only skiing 1 or 2 times)
