At MRG? And how did you do?

For me, it was the most hair raising, exhausting runs I have ever had. I have bragging rights, but my abilities and skill suppress any possible bragging! :sadwalk:

Depending on conditions it can be a challenge, but it's really just a steep glade of which there are many comparable things to ski in the East, though generally not published on trail maps. You can make it challenging depending on the lines you choose, but there are plenty of "ladies tee" options.

It's been a good few years since I had the chance of skiing at MRG and Paradise. I did it but I would not brag about my style.
The conditions were really good at the time, which made the descent quite enjoyable but I was humbled by the fozen waterfall that's part of the upper trail. I never felt comfortable with much air underneath my skis and the landing was just more steeps among trees and moguls.
I was impressed by people who would huck it without so much as stopping to asses the landing.

Haven't skied it yet... the one time I was there and it was open, I kinda forgot about it because everything else was so good. Lookinjg forward to getting there a few times this winter with the Triple Major.

How is it in comparison to, say, Tramline as far as toughness? Or the gladed part in comparison to Kinsman?

The trees are very open in Paradise. Similar pitch to Kinsman Glade but much more open. I find the crux of Tramline at the Tower 1 cliff is much more difficult to navigate than the Waterfall on Paradise. Paradise doesn't really have the rocky nastiness that Tramline has. I'd put Tramline ahead of Paradise for difficulty.

Cool... makes me even more excited to ski it lol. Tramline is one of 2 trails that has scared me sh*tless while skiing in good conditions (Goat being the other). I think I'll enjoy the waterfall part if I can jump it without having half of Mt. Washington sticking out of the snow on the landing. So psyched to hit MRG this year again. I hope I don't forget about Paradise while enjoying Fall Line, Lynx, etc.

Are you intending this to be the exact same thread as the other one that you started recently?
http://forums.alpinezone.com/showthread.php?t=101216&highlight=paradise

If so, are we required to have the exact same response?

If not, can we just refer back to this slightly older Paradise thread? We'll eventually get back there anyway and at least it has good video with a quick snowboard shot

Not a particular reasonable response.

It would be quite boring if we couldn't discuss the same things again. Don't you think there are newbies on here all the time? If you don't want to discuss it, check out. I can see it on the lift now. Hey, nice to meet you. You wanna know about tramline? Well, I discussed it a week ago. Why don't you do search on my discussion from two weeks ago. You weren't here? Well, you can't ask.

I skied it, and didn't really have much of an impression on it. Like, it was just another trail, and wasn't really an "Oh my God" moment or anything. I guess that means it wasn't that hard? Or memorable? I definitely remember Kinsman's and Tramline. Maybe it's because Paradise is similar to a lot of other trails at MRG, but Kinsman's and Tramline are pretty different than the majority of the terrain at Cannon.

It actually is a pretty reasonable response. I forgot about the thread Cannonball referenced, but it was less than three months ago. Why not just bump your old thread??

I'm normally not a fan of bumping but three months is a reasonable bump. I knew the last thread was recent but I didn't realize it was that recent.

MRG, is, I beieve, my favorite ski area in the East. When I am there, I usually spend most, if not all, of my time in the woods. Trails are are used for accessing different woods at MRG. :). Paradise is one of many fine wooded runs to ski there. It is, IMHO, not much harder than other woods skiing in northern Vt. Again, IMHO, the waterfall is more hype, as you can get around it....trust me, I am not one for serious mandatory air.
